With update v22.20, Fortnitemares 2022 is finally here. The celebrations are in full swing, and players are rushing to the game to partake in the spooky hijinks that the latest event entails. To commemorate the event, the developers are giving away free cosmetics.
Diverting from its usual practice, Fortnite now offers a free Chrome Punk skin to mark the event. All that players need to do is complete a few sets of challenges and earn 50 account levels. In addition to the Chrome Punk cosmetic outfit, players also stand a chance to earn many free awards.
Fortnite update v22.20 has introduced a brand new mythic called the Howler Claws. This is unlike any mythic the game has seen to date. The update also introduced a couple of new cosmetic outfits and a brand new Rick and Morty collaboration.

Players can earn a Fortnite outfit by leveling up
Players can claim the Chrome Punk outfit for free by leveling up. The cosmetic will only be unlocked by gaining 50 account levels. Players will have to gain 50 account levels while Fortnitemares 2022 lasts. For instance, if a player is at account level 1, they will have to attain account level 51 by the time the event ends.
While this may seem unattainable to many players, it is fairly easy to level up fast. Players have at their disposal a new set of weekly quests and challenges that can supplement the XP required to rise through 50 levels over two weeks. They can also use glitches and avenues like Creative maps to garner XP. Players can refer to this link to level up fast.
In addition to the Chrome Punk cosmetic outfit, players can also get their hands on the Chromeseed back bling and the Graveyard Rave loading screen. Unlike the Chrome Punk skin, these free rewards can be claimed at lower account levels.

Additional free rewards
In addition to the Chrome Punk cosmetic outfit, players stand a chance to claim many new spooky cosmetic items for free. The following are the rewards they can claim for free:
- Everything's End - Glider.
- Chrome Cage - Back bling.
- Unmaker - Pickaxe.
Players must complete a set of Fortnitemares 2022 quests to earn these free rewards. These challenges will unlock at a rate of two daily quests for two weeks. Players have until 1 November 2022 to complete the challenges and earn the rewards.
Like the Free Chrome Punk outfit, these free rewards also follow the hierarchy, and players must complete a set number of challenges before claiming the rewards. The following table enumerates the number of quests players must complete earning the free rewards.
Beyond the free rewards, players can purchase many new and exciting cosmetic items. Update v22.20 has introduced a Summer Smith and Mr. Meeseeks outfit to the game. Players will also get to experience the Fortnite x Evil Dead collaboration.
