Fortnite x Evil Dead collaboration arrives with Ash skin for FortniteMares 2022

Halloween is right around the corner, and Fortnite has delivered on this occasion by bringing in its famous annual Halloween update. FortniteMares 2022 is dropping today and will add several known elements players have seen over the years during the Halloween season.

From the infamous Pumpkin Launcher to Horde Rush game modes, players have been desperately waiting for these features to return. Earlier this month, the shop sections were also themed for the Halloween season, with two concept royale skins introduced, with future collaborations in speculation for this update.

With the current update, an exciting collaboration with the infamous Evil Dead film and video game series is coming to the island, and Ash Williams will make its way to the game.

Evil Dead protagonist Ash Williams enters the loop during FortniteMares 2022

Fortnite is collaborating with the Evil Dead franchise created by Sam Raimi and will introduce its protagonist Ash Williams as an outfit. The face model for the outfit is directly taken from a younger version of actor Bruce Campbell, who is known for playing Ash across several media of Evil Dead, be it movies, animation, or video games.

Alongside the outfit, other cosmetics will also be part of the set, starting with a Deadite Slicer pickaxe modeled like a chainsaw, a Necronomicon Ex-Mortis book as a backbling, and a shotgun satchel as an additional backbling.

Moreover, an entire loading screen will also be granted to players who purchase the entire set instead of individual cosmetics, similar to other sets that have previously made their way into the item shop.

The outfit was featured in the official FortniteMares 2022 trailer and was seen shooting hordes of wolf-like creatures with a Lever Action Shotgun. Fans of the franchise are eagerly looking to jump into the game and get their hands on the skin.

The cost of the cosmetic set has not been revealed nor announced by the game, but speculations say it could be priced at around 2500 V-Bucks, as other collaboration sets in the past have been valued the same.

FortniteMares 2022 launches in-game later tonight and will bring several quests, game modes, items, and free rewards for players who play the game. The seasonal update will last until November 1 at 2:00 am ET, which means players will only have a specific amount of time to experience the Halloween update.
