What's the story?

Benjamin Mendy is known to be the joker inside the Manchester City dressing room and his hilarious banter with EA Sports continued following his visibly deflated 78 rating in FIFA 18. The former AS Monaco star was clearly displeased with the game developers and had already expressed his disappointment the only way he knew. Now, the French International took things just a wee bit further:

Mendy's hilarious tweet comes following Manchester City's official Twitter account had him discussing his FIFA 18 rating with teammates Sergio Aguero and Nicolas Otamendi while walking on crutches during his current injury-hit spell. See the club's tweet below:

Mendy's tussle with EA Sports had started a while back when he first learned about his low rating of 78 in FIFA 18. It's safe to say he wasn't among the most pleased players on the FIFA 18 roster and it took him little time to let the developers know what he felt.

In case you didn't know...

Mendy rose to stardom last season following an incredible year with AS Monaco in the French Ligue 1 as well as the UEFA Champions League. Such was the impact that the Frenchman made, he found himself at the Etihad Stadium soon after mixing it up with the Premier League's best. So far, he looks worth every penny they paid for his services.

The heart of the matter

The concerning thing for EA Sports will be that Mendy isn't the only player who is unhappy with their FIFA 18 ratings. A number of players including the likes of David Luiz, Michy Batshuayi, Yannick Bolasie and others have been quick to lament on their poor portrayal in the game. Mendy's case seems fair when you put into context the fact that he is one of the hardest workers in the Manchester City side.

A look deeper into Mendy's Twitter profile shows a range of hilarious, fun-filled posts showing the positive nature in which the French player conducts himself and one can be sure that he wouldn't be dwelling too much into his low FIFA 18 numbers.

What's next?

Mendy is currently out with a knee ligament injury and is expected to be out of action for an extended period of time as Manchester City pick up the pace in their quest for another Premier League crown.

Author's take

Banter is part of the game and one can only respect Mendy's funny jibes at EA Sports no matter how serious they may actually be. The fullback is indeed, a true class act.
