The Global T20 Canada 2019 is the second edition of the Global T20 competition. During the 18 days of the competition, 22 matches will be played at the CAA Centre at Brampton in Ontario. The tournament will be glittered by many former and current international cricket stars.
There will be 6 teams competing for the title. The Brampton Wolves led by Colin Munro, Faf du Plessis’ Edmonton Royals, Montreal Tigers led by George Bailey, Toronto Nationals led by Yuvraj Singh, defending champions Vancouver Knights led by Chris Gayle and Rayad Emrit’s Winnipeg Hawks are the teams that will be playing their best cricket during the competition.

The tournament opener is scheduled on 25th July 2019 with the Final on 11 August 2019. Each team will play every other team once and the top four will qualify for the playoffs. The top two teams will play the first Qualifier. The winner of this match will head into the final and the loser will get another shot at the Final by playing the Qualifier 2.. The third and fourth placed teams will play the Eliminator. The loser will be knocked out while the winner will play the loser of Qualifier 1 in Qualifier 2. The winner of Qualifier 2 will play the Final and the loser will be knocked out.

The tournament will feature a group stage where all six teams will play against each other, which will be the fixtures in round 1. Then there will be a round 2 that will see first placed side take on the side in sixth, the team in second playing against the side in fifth position while third and fourth placed teams will take on each other.
Following that the playoffs get underway. This will be an IPL-style format which sees the top two sides take on each other in the first match of the playoffs to see who goes through to the final. The second playoff fixture sees the third and fourth side take on each other. The winner of the second playoff fixture will play the loser of the first to see who is the second team to qualify for the Global T20 Canada final that will take place on August 11. There is also a reserve day for the final.
