The 2025 US Open will commence on June 12 at Oakmont Country Club, and golfers are expected to face tough conditions on the course. Ahead of the tournament, golf influencer Paige Spiranac revealed that she’d like to see the winner of the tournament register an over-par score.

In 2016, Spiranac started the journey of what would be a very short professional golf career. She played on the Cactus Tour and won only one tournament on the circuit. That same year, she tried to qualify for the LPGA Tour, but was unsuccessful. She is now a golf instructor and an influencer with four million followers on Instagram.

On Tuesday, June 10, popular golf social media personality Roger Steele shared a short video from when he and Spiranac played a round at Oakmont Country Club. In the video, Steele admitted that the course was hard and Spiranac agreed, saying it had a thick rough.

Paige Spiranac and Roger Steele played at Oakmont last month for the USGA media day. Spiranac shared the full course vlog in a video that she posted on YouTube. It was her second time playing at the iconic course, and she revealed that she was excited to see it again.

Spiranac, Steele, and a group of other golfers teed off with a shotgun on the par-5 12th hole. She shot a birdie on the 12th, 14th, and 16th, and finished with a 3-under score at the end of the round.

The American former pro golfer further urged her audience to keep records and statistics of their game. For those who often get nervous while playing in front of other golfers, she advised them to practice calming breathing techniques by breathing from their stomach.

Paige Spiranac also spoke on avoiding negative thoughts, saying:

“You have to retrain yourself. Visualization really helps. Having a solid pre-shot routine and focusing on the positives. You’re not looking anywhere else but the target that you have and trying to execute the shot at hand. So, it’s being patient, working on your pre-shot routine, and avoiding all negative self-talk.” [5:35 onwards]

Notably, the video was posted on YouTube in April. It now has over 33,000 views and counting.
