Australian eves exacted sweet revenge for their 1-2 second Test defeat against South Korea, walloping them 6-0 in the third hockey Test at the Perth Hockey Stadium in Pert on Saturday.

The home side scored once in the first half through Emily Smith before came out firing in the second half, pumping in five more goals.

Emily Smith added one more to her tally, while captain Madonna Blyth scored twice. Ashleigh Nelson and Claire Messent sounded the board once.

The Hockeyroos lead the four-match Test series 2-1 with the final game on Sunday.

The match started at a frenetic pace with the Australian eves first raiding the South Korean citadel. Kellie White unleashed a shot in the 3rd minute, which sailed wide.

The Koreans responded strongly in the next minute when skipper Park Mi Hyun nearly scored but for a valiant save by Aussie goal-tender Toni Cronk.

Mariah Williams made her senior international debut and quickly made an impact when she along with Georgie Parker engineered their first penalty corner in the 8th minute, which went begging when captain Madonna Blyth’s PC shot was blocked by the Korean goalkeeper.

The Koreans were reduced to ten women when Kim Da Rae was green-carded in the 17th minute.

The Hockeyroos wasted their second short corner in the 21st minute after Claire Messent created the PC.

The match witnessed end-to-end action midway through the first half with both teams essaying sallies on a consistent basis.

Emily Smith, who made her 50th international appearance in the previous match, sounded the board with only four seconds remaining for the half-time hooter.

The Koreans were reduced to ten women again with Kim Da Rae being yellow-carded in the 37th minute for a foul on an Aussie player.

The Hockeyroos made the most of the numerical advantage, doubling the lead in the 40th minute through Ashleigh Nelson – the lone West Australian in the side.

The Redshirts had an opportunity to rebound in the 52nd minute but Kim Da Rae muffed up a nice feed from Park Mi Hyun.

Australia compounded the Korean woes when Emily made it 3-0 in the 58th minute after being superbly set up by Georgia Nanscawen.

Georgia Nanscawen was again in the thick of things when she set up Madonna Blyth for the fourth goal in the 60th minute.

Claire Messent made it 5-0 for the Hockeyroos in the 62nd minute even as the Koreans ran out of ideas with their defence looking ragged.

Madonna Blyth scored her second goal and her team’s sixth three minutes from the final hooter as the hosts held on to pull off a scintillating 6-0 win.
