In the Asia Cup 2013 finals, Sardar Singh led the team with high enthusiasm and the team was successful in making their road to the finals. He proved to be a player with good leadership skills. He also guided the formations well during the game and other dimensions of strategy. After the dominating performance of South Korea in the first half, the men in blue recovered strongly in the second half under the leadership of Sardar Singh. It was altogether a good show from India in the final. However, some silly mistakes led them to lose against South Korea by a single goal margin 3-4.

Recently, the captain of senior Indian hockey team Sardar Singh has signed a contract with the champions of 2013 European Hockey League – HC Bloemendaal. Sardar Singh will be taking the place of star Netherlands attacker Teun de Nooijer after his retirement recently.

It has been said that Sardar Singh will deliver great experience to the Bloemendaal squad and will motivate the young players of the club with his character and esteem.

Apart from Sardar Singh, the Dutch club has also signed a contract with Tom Boon and Simon Gougnard – the Belgian star players.
