Bollywood director Ashwini Iyer Tiwari to make movie on kabaddi

What's the story?

'Bareilly Ki Barfi' director, Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari has set her sights on a new project which will be a new movie based on the sport of kabaddi. Tiwari is currently in the process of writing the script for the movie and she will also help the project as the director. The movie will be produced by Fox Star Studios.

She stated, "I am thrilled to direct another story that is very close to my heart and I am delighted I have found a partner in like-minded Rucha Pathak and her team from Fox Star Studios."

Tiwari's previous projects were a movie titled 'Bareilly Ki Barfi' and starred Kriti Sanon, Ayushman Khurana and Rajkumar Rao.

The heart of the matter

The movie will be produced by Fox Star Studios and Rucha Pathak, their Chief Creative Officer, was also enthusiastic about the project. She stated that they were researching to develop a concept on kabaddi and that they found an idea that was just the right fit for Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari.

Kabaddi as a sport is undergoing a big revolution in India. The advent of Pro Kabaddi League has brought mainstream attention to the sport and has registered big viewership figures on television. India are also performing at the international level dominating the sport. Kabaddi players have become superstars and celebrities in the country and now a movie being directed on them is further recognition of this fact.

What's next?

As mentioned earlier, Tiwari is already working on a script and will also act as an editor. This will definitely one of her biggest projects yet.
