In their third home match, the Haryana Steelers will take on the Telugu Titans as a part of the Inter-Zone Challenge Week at the Motilal Nehru School of Sports in the Sonepat leg of the Pro Kabaddi League.
Both the teams are coming into this match on the back of contrasting results, with the Steelers having won their match last night against the Bengaluru Bulls while the Telugu Titans lost their last clash against the Puneri Paltan back in Kolkata.
Haryana largely banked on the heroics of their raiders to do the job last night with Prashant Rai picking up 16 points and Deepak Dahiya amassing eight of his own against the poor defence of the Bulls. The Haryana defence lacked the regular sheen with Surender Nada being relegated to the bench quite often and not one player managed to pick up more than two tackle points including Mohit Chhillar, but they will have to make sure that the same mistakes are not repeated tonight for it will allow Rahul Chaudhari to go rampant.
Surjeet Singh and Wazir Singh also were not at their attacking best and will have to buck up against the Telugu Titans tonight if they are to continue their unbeaten run at home.
The Titans, on the other hand, have not really stamped their authority in the season so far with nine losses out of the total 13 matches that they have played so far. Rahul Chaudhari has been performing well as the lead raider of the side and is just short of one point to complete a century of points in the fifth edition.
He will be assisted by the likes of Mohsen Maghsoudlou who has been impressive and young guns Elangeshwar R and Vinoth Kumar. The defence has been bolstered by the return of the experienced Rakesh Kumar who was out due to an injury concern.
The former Indian captain will be supported by the likes of Rohit Rana, Vishal Bhardwaj in the corner position and Sombir who is having a spectacular run in the season with his lethal tackles.
Haryana Steelers vs Telugu Titans match prediction
The Steelers will have an upper hand in the match and their main challenge will be to keep Rahul Chaudhari and Mohsen at bay like they did for Rohit Kumar against the Bengaluru Bulls.
The attack comprising of Prashant Rai, Wazir and Deepak Dahiya will look to target the weak links in the defence to keep the scoreboard ticking but will have to be careful against the likes of Vishal Bhardwaj and Sombir who has announced himself on the scene as a lethal defender.
