Hello everyone! Welcome to the live coverage of the first match of Season 4 of Star Sports Pro Kabaddi. The day Kabaddi fans had been waiting for with bated breath since that nail biting Season 3 final between U Mumba and Patna Pirates is finally here. Telugu Titans take on Puneri Paltan tonight here at DOME in NSCL SVP Stadium, Mumbai, to kick off the fourth season of Star Sports Pro Kabaddi.

For those of you who are wondering why a Puneri Paltan home game is being held in Mumbai, there were some logistical issues due to which the venue had to be shifted to the capital of Maharashtra. Luckily for them, they are not too far from home but will that actually matter? We will have to wait and see.

There is a lot of uncertainty in the new season as all team have a different look to them due to the auction that took place just a couple of months back. The auction was packed with a lot of action and Bengaluru Bulls took home the bragging rights by picking up Mohit Chhillar for a whopping price of Rs. 53 lakh.

Let’s have a look at the two teams past performances first up. Telugu Titans missed out on a semi-final berth by a whisker in the first season to finish the season at 5th position with six wins. They bounced back in style in the second season only to lose to U Mumba in the final. Titans were not at their best in season three and could finish fifth with 7 wins.

The Puneri Paltan finished a disappointing last in the first season of the tournament and repeated their performance in the second season as well when they ended as the wooden spoon holders for the second time in two seasons. The redemption in the third season was led by skipper Manjeet Chillar who took the team to semis where they could finish third eventually.

Coming into the fourth season, both teams have made crucial changes to their squad. Ravinder Pahal, who performed exceptionally well in the first two seasons for Dabang Delhi and Sonu Narwal from Jaipur Pink Panthers join the team. Nitin Tomar of the services will also be seen in Pune jersey this season. Jasmer Singh Gulia and Prashant Chavan will be two important players from last season who will not be seen in action for the team.

For Telugu Titans, Sandeep Narwal, Jasmer Singh and Sandeep Dhull have been vital additions to the squad while captain of last season Dharamaraj Cheralathan will no more be seen in Titans’ jersey this season. The 23 year old Rahul Chaudhari, who has most raid points 336 to his name in PKL history, will be leading the Titans in season 4.

The two teams have met 6 times before this match and Telugu Titans have proved too hot for Puneri Paltan on most of the occasions as the team has won just won match against the Hyderabad and Vishakhapatnam based team. On four occasions, Telugu Titans have come on top.

Some of the names to look out for from Puneri Paltan will be Ajay Thakur, their charismatic captain Manjeet Chhillar and lanky Sonu Narwal. While Telugu Titans will be relying on their maverick raider Rahul Chaudhari and Sandeep Narwal as well as Sukesh Hegde.
