Pawan Sehrawat will be the 'X-factor' for the Bengaluru Bulls

Defending champions Bengaluru Bulls got their campaign off to a thrilling start as the Rohit Kumar-led side registered a 34-32 win over the Patna Pirates in the second fixture of Pro Kabaddi 2019 at the Gachibowli Indoor Stadium in Hyderabad.

On the back of a win, the Bulls' will go up against last year's finalists Gujarat Fortune Giants in what will be billed as a repeat fixture of the PKL 6 finals. With the Fortune Giants retaining a vast majority of their core from last season, the Sunil Kumar-led side will be hoping to start the tournament with a win.

Pawan Sehrawat's 9-point raid and a 'High-5' from Amit Sheoran were the highlights in the Bengaluru Bulls' win as the PKL 6 champions came back from a 13-17 deficit at the end of the first half to claw their way back to a nail-biting win in the end.

Against Gujarat's defense-heavy strategy, Pawan Sehrawat's grit will be put to test as if the youngster does fail, Rohit Kumar, who had a poor start to the season with just four points from the opening encounter will need to step up to the plate.

The Fortunegiants' raiding unit will be led by the versatile Sachin Tanwar, who will have Rohit Gulia, More GB among others for company while the cover partnership between skipper Sunil Kumar and Parvesh Bhainswal will be the 'X-factor' for the season 5 and season 6 finalists.

Predicted starting 7s

Bengaluru Bulls: Rohit Kumar (c), Pawan Sehrawat, Ashish Sangwan, Mahender Singh, Amit Sheoran, Vijay Kumar, Vinod Kumar.

Gujarat Fortune Giants: Sunil Kumar (c), Sachin Tanwar, Rohit Gulia, Parvesh Bhainswal, More GB, Ruturak Koravi, Vinod Kumar.

Match Prediction

The Bengaluru Bulls got their campaign off to a fantastic start with a two-point win over the Patna Pirates and will be keen to maintain the winning run when they face off against the Gujarat Fortune Giants.

The Sunil Kumar-led side have in the past seasons banked on their defensive unit and with the partnership between Sunil Kumar and Parvesh Bhainswal proving to be a mighty proposition for the best of raiders, the alliance will be key to put the threat of Pawan Sehrawat at bay.

However, on the day, Bengaluru Bulls' all-round performance against Patna could prove to induce the much-needed confidence in the Bulls unit, which could pull them across the line against Gujarat.

Bengaluru Bulls could be expected to win this encounter.
