Before his meteoric rise on the kabaddi mat, Bengaluru Bulls had released Pawan Sehrawat from their squad. Gujarat Fortune Giants snapped him up next and he played for the Ahmedabad-based franchise in season 5. Pawan featured in only 9 games for Gujarat, scoring 9 raid points at an average of 1 raid point/match.

Manpreet Singh, who is known to be a talent scout, used him as a substitute before dropping him from the team. Pawan returned to Bengaluru Bulls in 2018 and he single-handedly dismantled the Fortune Giants in PKL 2018 final.

In an exclusive interview with Sportskeeda, the running hand touch specialist had revealed that the Indian all-rounder Manjeet Chhillar is his idol besides mentioning that his attitude has inspired him a lot.

When asked about his idol Pawan said, "Manjeet Chhillar has been my idol for so long now. I have learned from his attitude of taking down opponents single-handedly as my inspiration that has helped me a lot today."
