Video: Pardeep Narwal wipes out Gujarat Fortunegiants defence with Super Raid in Pro Kabaddi 2017 Final

Patna Pirates may have won their third straight Pro Kabaddi League title, but they were far from being the favourites in the Pro Kabaddi 2017 final against Gujarat Fortunegiants.

In face, Patna, at one stage, found themselves to be down and out in the first half, as Gujarat had already inflicted an early All Out on them. the defending champions were trailing 10-15.

however, it was their star raider Pardeep Narwal, who got them back into the game, with yet another fantastic Super Raid.

At the time of the super raid, Patna were on the back foot. They were trailing Gujarat with a score of 10-15. But then Narwal stepped up. Gujarat had 3 defenders on the mat and Pardeep got the touch on all of them. He inflicted an All Out and bagged 5 points to level the scores at 15-15.

After some back and forth switches, Patna seized the momentum and raced into the lead. From that point onwards, the defending champions never looked back.

Every time Gujarat got within touching distance, Patna raised the bar even higher. Soon, Patna were at 45-34 and things looked bleak for the Fortunegiants. They tightened their chokehold and Gujarat were only able to wrangle out 3 more points. The Pirates on the other hand, plundered their way to 10 more points and finally the ordeal was over with the final score reading 55-38. Patna successfully defended their spoils for the third time in succession. Meanwhile, one had to spare a thought for the Fortunegiants who were plucky in their approach but came away empty-handed.
