Rovman Powell (Rajasthan Royals captain): I think the game was done before the last over. We did a fantastic job to restrict such a powerful side to 173. I think it was case about someone staying deep till the end and Quinney did a terrific job. He is a left hander and comes up with wealth of experience. He has been in great form and hopefully it continues for long. We have two days before the next game. We rest for one and then get back. We have to keep improving. The cricket looks pretty good so far.

Shai Hope (Guyana Amazon Warriors captain): We gave them 20-30 runs too much but I had belief in the firepower in our batting line up. Theekshana is a class bowler and he tries to get wickets at the top. We didn't play the greatest game. We have to look at the areas we can improve. We have to find ways to get wickets. Imran Tahir was a big miss as he is a massive wicket taker in the middle overs. We have to finish well in the death overs and then bat well. Wherever you go in the Caribbean, you always see the supporters moving all around. It was great to see the crowd today.

Quinton de Kock is the Player of the Match, here is what he had to say: I really don't know what's the secret behind my success. Just enjoying my time in the CPL. Yeah I am not too sure where this knock ranks. I tried to capitalise and get my team to a winning total. My partner took control in the powerplay, I found it a bit difficult but he didn't which took the pressure off me. Not much to be honest. We were positive. We lost last night but it was still a great game. So after these two days, we have to get out feet off for the time off.

The Guyana Amazon Warriors have suffered their first defeat of the 12th edition of the Caribbean Premier League. The Barbados Royals who lost their previous game only yesterday against the Trinbago Knight Riders, got back to winning ways courtesy of a thoroughly professional all round performance.

The Amazon Warriors needed to kick on and get off to a flying start in the powerplay but it was anything but that. Azam Khan was promoted up the order and opened the innings with Tim Robinson. Azam’s poor run of form continued as he top-edged a back-of-a-length delivery from Holder. Robinson and Shai Hope tried to stitch together a partnership but they couldn't quite score the runs at the rate which they wanted.

Robinson struggled his way to a run a ball 19 before Keshav Maharaj deceived him with a beautiful delivery. Out came Shimron Hetmyer in the middle and game out firing right from the word go. He smashed Maharaj for back to back sixes in his first two deliveries before rain stopped play for about forty minutes. Hetmyer didn't stop after the rain break and smashed his third six off as many deliveries.

He was eventually dismissed by Keshav Maharaj at an important juncture of the game. Hetmyer kept targeting his match-up and perished in the process. Shai Hope tried to build a partnership with Moeen Ali who was making his CPL debut. The southpaw struck three fours and two sixes during his 19 ball 33. However, Shai Hope couldn't quite get the momentum he was after and ended up playing a false shot to Jason Holder which brought about his downfall.

When Moeen departed, it seemed the match had slipped from their grasp and it transpired exactly in this manner. Keeno Paul remained unbeaten on 30 off 18 deliveries to take the score beyond 170 but it wasn't anywhere close to bring enough to get his side over the finish line. In the end, it was a comprehensive 32-run victory for the Barbados Royals who leapfrog Amazon Warriors to the top of the points table. Maharaj was the pick of the bowlers for the Royals finishing with figures of 3/42.
