Sophie Devine (Player of the Match & New Zeland Women captain): Pretty happy with that performance. Everyone stood up, we spoke about it. Being brutally honest, I think we left 15-20 runs out there. We have spoken about our batting blueprint a lot, how to build big scores. The way that Maddy Green came, Gaze too got us to a competitive total and the way that Suzie and Georgia laid the foundation up top. Suzie was outstanding today. It is always hard when you lose a spinner of the quality of Amelia Kerr but the way that Eden Carson and Fran Jonas have stepped up in the last couple of years, it has made my job easier. We have always wanted consistency. It is a quick turnaround now and it will be a good challenge for us
Harmanpreet Kaur [India Women Captain]: I think we gave away too many runs and dropped a number of catches. It was still a chase-able score. While chasing we kept losing wickets and were not able to build partnerships. We need to work on it in the next game. Someone like Radha is giving her 200% and others are leaking boundaries — that is what we always talk about. These girls (Saima Thakor, Priya Mishra and Tejal Hasabnis) look ready. You need these kind of players who are ready to give it their all for the country. Batting is something we need to work on. The bowlers are doing their job. As fielders too, we need to support them.
Lea Tahuhu [New Zealand Women]: "It probably started to skid on in the second half and there was also a bit of uneven bounce as well. The pitches that we have played on have been amazing. We would love to push towards 280 in the next game. It (her own rhythm) felt really good. I missed the first game, so wanted to come back nicely. I was looking to use my variations and make those subtle changes in pace."

The record 9th wicket partnership between Radha Yadav and Saima Thakor ends up saving the blushes for India who have been completely outplayed by the White Ferns. The 3-match series is levelled at 1-1 now.
Chasing 260, India never got going. Smriti Mandhana was dismissed softly once again, this time in the first over and that was just a sign of things to come. The ball just did a little bit for the Kiwi seamers but they made the most out of it. Lea Tahuhu struck twice and Jess Kerr struck once to reduce India to 26/3 removing the top-3.
A 38-run partnership between skipper Harmanpreet and Jemimah was formed but as soon as Sophie Devine broke it, the writing was on the wall. Wickets kept falling at regular intervals as none of the batters were able to stay at the crease for a considerable length of time.
The entire Indian middle-order got starts but none went past 24. It was a brilliant rearguard effort from Radha Yadav and Saima Thakor who refused to give up and stay put at the crease. They added 70 runs for the ninth wicket frustrating the Kiwis and delaying the inevitable. Eventually, Jess Kerr dismissed Saima Thakor in the 44th over and then Radha Yadav fell as the last wicket a couple of overs later falling just short of a well-deserved maiden fifty.
For New Zeland, Sophie Devine had a day out. She picked up 3 with the ball after her 79 with the bat. Lea Tahuhu got 3 as well while Jess Kerr and Eden Carson chipped in with 2 each.
