That brings us to the end of our coverage for the final T20I of the three match series which ends 1-1. India were tested by South Africa all through the tour but they managed to win all the crucial moments and in the end, South Africa had to settle with just a solitary win from seven games with one getting washed out. India comfortably won the opening ODI but was run close in the second match. They managed to win the series 3-0 before a resounding 10 wicket victory in the Test match. South Africa posed a stern challenge in the first two games and was a tad unlucky to not see the second game getting completed. However, they were absolutely blown away today, getting a 10 wicket thrashing. India will now travel to Sri Lanka for the Asia Cup before the T20 World Cup campaign in Bangladesh from October 3. On the other hand, this was the last international assignment for South Africa ahead of the World Cup. Some of their players will travel to different parts of the world for franchise cricket but not having any international game till the World Cup is not the ideal situation for South Africa. We have several matches lined up tomorrow. Do join us then and for many more on Sportskeeda but for now, this is me (Arya Sekhar Chakraborty) signing off also on behalf of my fellow commentator Pradeep Somasekhar. Goodnight! Cheers!
It's time for the Indian and the South African players to pose for the photographs. A nice gesture from both teams to stand together. The series shared 1-1.
Harmanpreet Kaur (India Women series): We spoke about the things we needed to improve and I am very happy with the bowling effort. We also fielding brilliantly which was a big positive. Yeah that's what we spoke about there might be a situation that we have the capability to express. Everyone was positive and played as a team. I think if I talk about the whole series, Smriti batted brilliantly. The bowlers also performed very well. Everyone in the team looked really positive and the self belief was there that we can do everything. This team has a lot of talent. All the support staff is very calm and this is the best I have worked with. As a team we want to keep doing the right things and winning series.
Laura Wolvaardt (South Africa Women captain): Yeah disappointing loss. Not the way we wanted to end the series. They bowled brilliantly. Overall we will take a lot of learnings from the series, especially the first two games. We went too hard today. Taken a little bit more time. We fell to the conditions today. A couple of us will go and play the hundred and the others will rely much on simulation.
Pooja Vastarkar is the Player of the Match and the Player of the Series as well! Here's what she has to say: It was an opportunity, whatever we practiced in the nets, kept it wicket to wicket and executed well. Hard lengths worked for me, I followed it throughout. It's a responsibility, team felt like Pooja could do it and I did it with good economy rate. Wickets there and with T20 format, I'll be apt to those conditions. We focused more on keeping it on the stumps, backed our strengths and worked well for us.
Radha Yadav: It was fun, they were playing some good cricket in the first two games. We were disappointed as to what was going wrong, we talked about it in the meetings and came up with plans, we bounced back well today. First two games, I was bowling quick and the field placements wasn't up to the mark, I reflected upon and it turned out well for us today. Simple, not much. We weren't giving anything free for them, worked on their weakness. Quick decision was missing, which we were not doing and today we did well with that. Confidence is there, but I rely on hard work and as a team too, we will continue to do that, result will come. There are small things we weren't doing well, but focused on that. All the players worked hard, you can see it in the results and looked forward to do something big in the times to come.
India Women won by 10 wickets (with 55 deliveries to spare)
The target of 85 was never going to challenge India who bats deep and in the end, none of the batters barring the two openers Shafali Verma and Smriti Mandhana were required to knock the runs over. India began in a positive manner with Smriti Mandhana striking a couple of boundaries in the first over to get things going.
Three tidy overs followed as both the naturally aggressive batters tried to ensure India didn't lose any wickets in a bid to chase down the target. Shafali Verma then took on Eliz-Mari.Maez in the 5th over as the target kept decreasing with each passing over. Mandhana then came into the act, smashing a couple of boundaries of Nonkululeko Mlaba to reduce the required runs further down to 45 more required off 14 overs.
The question was not whether India would chase this down but the question was how soon. As the target kept decreasing, both batters started taking their chances and tried to finish it off as quickly as possible. It was Mandhana who eventually took on the charge towards the last few overs of the match.
A couple of sixes and fours in the last six deliveries of the match from Smriti Mandhana helped her get to another well-deserved half-century and also finished off the game for India in the process. After a couple of hard days for the bowlers, they turned up and how. On a batting friendly wicket, each and every bowler chipped in and hit the right lengths which eventually paid dividends. This is also the biggest victory for India against South Africa while chasing.
Mandhana brings up another half century and finishes it off in style. Nonchalantly flicks away the low full toss on the pads over the backward square leg boundary as the three match series has been leveled 1-1. South Africa had a tough ODI series, lost the Test match and finishes off the tour with a thrashing. They never really found their feet today and was literally blown away by a much better Indian side who came out with a purpose and nailed all their plans.
10.5 Nadine de Klerk to Smriti Mandhana, SIX! FINISHES THE GAME IN STYLE! What a thumping win this for India, and square the series 1-1! Dishes out a full toss down the leg-side, Mandhana just swipes it all the way over deep backward square-leg for a maximum to seal the game.
10.4 Nadine de Klerk to Smriti Mandhana, full again but Mandhana gets followed as she backed away, digs it out back to the bowler again.
India now just a shot away from winning it. Mandhana making her intentions pretty clear and is finishing it off in a jiffy. What a thoroughly comprehensive all-round showing this has been from India.
10.3 Nadine de Klerk to Smriti Mandhana, too full on the stumps, Mandhana hangs back and digs it out into the on-side.
10.2 Nadine de Klerk to Smriti Mandhana, FOUR MORE! Mandhana is in a real hurry to wrap this up here. Rolls her finger through, Mandhana gave herself some room and slams it over the top of extra-cover, runs away to the ropes.
10.1 Nadine de Klerk to Smriti Mandhana, FOUR MORE! Wheels are coming off now for South Africa. Back of a length outside the off-stump, Mandhana cuts it deliberately past the diving backward point, that runs away and finds the ropes.
Drinks!
We are halfway through the run chase but nothing much left in the game to ponder on as far as the South Africans are concerned. Mandhana trying to finish it off as early as possible as she came dancing down the track and pummeled the penultimate delivery over the midwicket boundary. India just 11 runs away from registering a comprehensive victory and levelling the series 1-1.

9.6 Nonkululeko Mlaba to Smriti Mandhana, good length on the fourth stump, Mandhana swept it flat over mid-wicket, but the fielder gets around to keep them for one.
9.5 Nonkululeko Mlaba to Smriti Mandhana, SIX! That is a flat hit from Mandhana. Shimmies down the track for the length delivery, Mandhana pumped it to wide long-on and goes all the way for a maximum.
9.4 Nonkululeko Mlaba to Shafali Verma, length delivery on the off-stump, Shafali strides out and stroked it to long-off for one.
9.3 Nonkululeko Mlaba to Shafali Verma, OH! In the air but safe. Short outside the off-stump, extra-bounce as Shafali waits and cuts it uppishly.
