Pitch Report
"The pitch may be a bit two-paced. There are those patches in there that suggest so. The seamers may have something in it up front with the new ball. On the whole, a decent T20 wicket but slightly bowler-friendly."

10:46 PM local time (3:16 PM IST): So that will be it from the Hagley Oval in Christchurch! The series will head into its final game on Thursday at Eden Park in Auckland with the first ball to be bowled at 7:15 PM local time (11:45 AM IST). Do join us for that one then. As for now, this is Bidipto taking your leave. Keep following Sportskeeda!
Harry Brook (England captain): "It's great to have two extremely experienced spinners in our team! They both used the wind to perfection. The other positive was that the bowlers were able to figure out the right lengths to bowl given the boundary dimensions. It helped us take a lot of catches after getting those opportunities."
Mitchell Santner (New Zealand captain): "I thought England read the pitch better and picked their shots nicely. They were quick to pounce on anything loose, and never let our bowlers settle. They were able to pick up wickets in the power play. They also used the wind to their advantage. Couple of days off in training, Eden Park can be tough to contend with, but, we have to get our plans in place first up."
Harry Brook (Player of the Match, 78 runs off 35 balls): "Great win! Phil Salt and I were clear about going for the runs and encouraging each other. The pitch was a little bit flatter today, which obviously helped. It was nice to get some runs out there. My favourite shot was againt Mitchell Santner off the back foot for six!"
10:32 PM local time (3:02 PM IST): England win by 65 runs with 2 overs to spare!
Phil Salt 85 (56) | Adil Rashid - 4/32 (4) Tim Seifert 39 (29) | Kyle Jamieson - 2/47 (4)
For the second time in T20Is, New Zealand have lost all their 10 wickets, caught! But this wasn't the best of batting efforts at all. Wickets were lost at regular intervals and the shot selection by the Blackcaps was not always the best. Apart from Tim Seifert, Mark Chapman and Mitchell Santner, no one crossed 25 runs. Only one partnership of over 50 runs came about, but that would never be enough in a run chase like this, especially if it came to and end at 69 runs.
As for England, both spinners were incredible! Adil Rashid and Liam Dawson were superb with their lengths, their pace and their execution of plans. Both out-bowled their New Zealand counterparts. The seamers too chipped in with four wickets and the catching was pretty good right through the innings!
Overall, this was quite an all-round performance from England to ensure that they would not lose the series!

17.6 Luke Wood to Jacob Duffy, AND THAT IS THAT! ENGLAND WIN THE MATCH AND TAKE THE LEAD IN THE SERIES! Back of a length on off-stump. Duffy made a little bit of room and flat-batted it. But it caught the shoulder of the blade and went to mid-off's left for a neat catch!
17.5 Luke Wood to Kyle Jamieson, short around off-stump. Pulled away off the back foot to wide long-on for a single.
17.4 Luke Wood to Jacob Duffy, full on off-stump. Duffy makes a bit of room and drove it to the cover region for a single to open his account.

Matt Henry has been dismissed for 0 runs off 1 balls
17.3 Luke Wood to Matt Henry, OUT FIRST BALL! Good length and slow on leg-and-middle. A big heave across the line and well connected. But, it goes flat over the in-field and gets well caught by deep mid-wicket!
17.2 Luke Wood to Kyle Jamieson, good length on the pads. Jamieson tucks it away to the deep backward square-leg area for a single.
17.1 Luke Wood to Kyle Jamieson, over the wicket, FOUR! Full and at the pads. Jamieson flicks it away from the middle of the bat and finds the gap over the in-field and down between long-on and deep mid-wicket!
