So, that is it from myself, Karthik Raj and my co-commentator, Pradeep. Do switch over to the coverage of the second game between two heavyweights in the form of RCB and MI. There is also other cricket in the form of ECS and the final ODI between South Africa and the Netherlands. Follow those games if interested as we are never short of cricketing action at Sportskeeda. Until next time, adios!
Jos Buttler, Player of the Match: It is a fantastic start for us. We had a really good season last year but it counts for nothing this year. (Whether he pre-meditates stuff) Little bit, try to plan a little but also react according to the conditions and put pressure on the bowlers. (Whether he does anything differently with his pull shot off spinners) Not particularly, keep a clear mind and try to react.
Sanju Samson: Yeah absolutely. I was wondering how we will start the season, very happy. Having a bat like Jos Buttler and Yashasvi Jaiswal, we can expect that with the mindset they coming in. We definitely are a very good side but you have to keep the heads down and follow the process. We know that things can turn around at any point. Wanted to finish the innings off well and feel we did pretty well. There should be strengths and there will be weaknesses too. We will find out as the tournament goes on!
Time for the Post-match Presentation!
Yuzvendra Chahal (Rajasthan Royals): The way we started, especially Jos bhai and Jaiswal, we knew 200 was a good score as it was difficult to hit when the ball gets old. I always back myself, some plans work and my plan was to bowl stump to stump. Nothing new, I back my skills, sometimes I get wickets, sometimes I don't.
Bhuvneshwar Kumar (Sunrisers Hyderabad captain): We need to forget this performance and move on, but there's also positives that we can take from here, we pulled things back at the backend well. There was something in the wicket, when you bowl with the spinners but they batted well, it's just the first match of the season and it's a long way to go. There are South African players are coming back, we need to move forward from this match. It was a pretty good track, generally what we get in Hyderabad, we're not worried about what the wickets bring in.
What a resounding performance from last year's finalists Rajasthan Royals. They start the new season with a 72-run victory. Chasing 204 even on a good surface was going to be difficult and Trent Boult made it impossible with a stunning new ball spell. Boult removed the pair of Abhishek Sharma and Rahul Tripathi for ducks in the very first over. The RR seamers including KM Asif and Holder continued the good work as Harry Brook and Mayank Agrarwal found it difficult to rebuild after that.
Eventually, Chahal bowled Brook in the seventh over with the Englishman only managing 13 off 21 balls in his IPL debut. Holder joined in the party as he bounced out Washington Sundar. Glenn Phillips didn't last long too as Ravichandran Ashwin got a scalp of his own. SRH continued to collapse even after that with Mayank Agarwal holing out to long-off to become Chahal's second victim. Abdul Samad was brought in as an impact player but he was pretty rusty. After a few impressive strikes, Adil Rashid fell to a lovely googly from Chahal. Bhuvneshwar Kumar also saw himself stumped off the leggie as SRH slipped to 95-8. Thereafter, the J&K pair of Abdul Samad and Umran Malik hit some lovely hits over the fence to provide some consolation to the passionate Orange Army crowd.
Not many things went right for SRH but they will definitely be stronger with the presence of skipper Aiden Markram, Heinrich Klaasen and Marco Jansen arriving for the next game. On the other hand, RR will hope this is just the start of some great things to come!

19.6 Navdeep Saini to Abdul Samad, THAT'S IT! Rajasthan Royals annihilate Sunrisers Hyderabad here! Short delivery outside the off-stump. Samad too early into the pull and misses, that's a dot to finish. Royals picked up two points.
19.5 Navdeep Saini to Abdul Samad, FOUR MORE! Yet another boundary for Samad. Change of pace on the middle and leg. Samad flicked it away, beats the short fine-leg fielder, runs away and finds the ropes.
19.4 Navdeep Saini to Abdul Samad, FOUR MORE! Length delivery outside the off-stump. Samad sits on one knee and carves it away, goes one bounce into the deep point fence for another boundary. Saini has been taken for cleaners here!
19.3 Navdeep Saini to Umran Malik, takes the pace off, short outside the off-stump. Malik slammed it down to long-on, fielder gets to it quickly to stop it as they get just one.
19.3 Navdeep Saini to Umran Malik, SIX! KABOOM! Umran Malik sends this one into the second tier, what a shot. Short into Umran, he swivels and DEPOSITS this one way over deep mid-wicket fence and into the stands for a humongous maximum. It's definitely a day to forget for Saini, he's overstepped and it's a no-ball!
19.2 Navdeep Saini to Abdul Samad, OH! Length delivery on the stumps. Samad misses out this time as he looks to hoick, toe ends it down to long-on for one.
19.1 Navdeep Saini to Abdul Samad, SIX! BOOM! Shots coming in very late for Sunrisers. Back of a length on the middle and off. Samad finally connects one big as he flicked it and SMOKES it over deep backward square-leg fence for a huge maximum.
Some entertainment from Umran Malik finally. He is showing off his hitting skills!
