Faf du Plessis (Texas Super Kings Captain): The first six overs, we tried to be nice and positive. The wicket started to slow down. I thought anything above 185 will be tough. To get above 200, was great. I love the sport, the drive inside me is big. I am trying to squeeze everything out of me. You always have to make sure that you have a good head on your shoulders and keep evolving. Akeal Hosein was going to open, we had a sneaky suspicion that Nicholas Pooran was going to open but we changed our plans. Just happy that we could turn it around. We didn't start this leg well. Credit to everyone, everyone has put their hand up at different stages. We are moving to different conditions, need to assess that and adapt.
Akeal Hosein (Player of the Match, TSK): I think it is the mindset, I was up for the challenge, and it takes you to be at the peak of your game to beat them. To be honest, I know them. They are friends off the field, but on the field, it gets serious. For me, coming into the match, I had set my mind prepared for all situations, and had a long night preparing against them. If you know your plans, you can execute them. Dwayne Bravo said If you want to be the best in the game, you need to be a student and learn. For me, it is about learning and getting better that my game
Nicholas Pooran (MI New York Captain): It is tough. We have struggled with our bowling in this tournament. Today, we bowled well in the middle but Faf (Faf du Plessis) took it deep and showed the value of his experience. Akeal (Akeal Hosein) is a trump card and was a match-up for me. He has been incredible, showed us how to go about batting in these situations. Nice to see him enjoying the game, he continues to make it look easy. It is never over. Different conditions as well. Once you get one win, things could change for us. MI franchises are never out of a tournament.
10:50 pm local time, 9:20 am IST: Texas Super Kings beat MI New York by 39 runs
A comprehensive victory for TSK. When these two sides met for the first time in Oakland, it was a close, nail-biting contest which saw the Super Kings by two runs. Now they meet again in what could be the final time this season, and it is the men in yellow who will take the bragging rights home. This also sees their target of achieving one of the remaining two qualification spots fulfilled.
Chasing 224 was always going to be an uphill task, and MINY needed a strong start for that. With Pooran and de Kock opening, it looked as if the two were enough to gun the total down. However, quick dismissals of the top three batters meant that runs became slightly harder to get. Later, it was a show by Kieron Pollard in the end, and it looked like the West Indies legend would take his side home. But TSK's disciplined bowling made it tough for them, and they fell well short of the total.
For TSK, it was Akeal Hosein who picked up three wickets in the four overs he bowled and contained the batters. He did get help from Ferreira in the spin bowling department, but his partner, Noor, went for plenty. Nandre Burger and Marcus Stoinis, though expensive, picked up four wickets each and ensured that wickets were taken at regular intervals.

Rushil Ugarkar has been dismissed for 0 runs off 1 balls
19.5 Marcus Stoinis to Rushil Ugarkar, full and angling in, Ugarkar tries to swing hard but he misses and gets struck plumb in front. LBW appeal and the umpire has no hesitation in raising his finger. Meanwhile, Ugarkar has signaled for the DRS. No bat involved and the ball-tracking shows three reds. So, Ugarkar has to leave for a golden duck!

Trent Boult has been dismissed for 6 runs off 2 balls
19.4 Marcus Stoinis to Trent Boult, yorker angling in, Boult squeezes it onto the boot and the ball rolls to the keeper. Oh! What's happened there? Boult wandered around hilariously and Smit Patel under-armed the ball onto the stumps. Crazy run-out and this is the second time Boult has been run-out like this in this season!
19.3 Marcus Stoinis to Trent Boult, SIX! Full and angling in, Boult slogs it over long-on for a maximum. Boult providing some entertainment even though the result is sealed!

Last wicket to fall was of Sunny Patel
19.2 Marcus Stoinis to George Linde, RUN-OUT! Full-toss outside-leg, Linde flicks it to deep mid-wicket and looks to get back for the second run. There is a throw at the batter's end and Linde could be in trouble. We will go upstairs to check the run-out. The replays reveal that Linde was well short of the crease. So, he has to depart!
19.1 Marcus Stoinis to Sunny Patel, slow length delivery bowled wide of off, Sunny hacks it to long-off for a single.
