Pitch Report
We are almost at the center. It's 62 and 64 meters on the square and 74 meters down the ground. The wind is flowing from the east. Win the toss and bat first here. It's rock hard but will take some turn. The team batting first should look to get 160 as the average score here has been 156.

So that will be all from the Kensington Oval in Barbados! The home team romped home tonight and made sure to get ahead of even South African in terms of the net run rate, meaning that a win against the Proteas in the final Group 2 game takes them through to the semi-finals. USA need to beat England first and hope that South Africa win against the West Indies. Then of course, the net run rate comes into play, but it means that no team is out of the semi-final contention as yet from this group. But up next is the Group 1 match between India and Bangladesh, live from Antigua. You can catch all the action from the game right here. As for now, this is the pair of Rudransh and Bidipto taking your leave. Keep following Sportskeeda!
Rovman Powell (West Indies captain): Really impressive win tonight! First of all, the bowling was top notch. Roston Chase, as always, was superb and the others followed up nicely. Shai Hope is a quality batter. Slightly sad that we had to leave him out for the England game due to combinations, but when he does get that opportunity, he shows one and all what he is capable of! South Africa always play good cricket, they are playing really good cricket, so it will be a tough contest on Sunday. But we will be up for it. We want to come back here in Barbados on the 29th and give these fans a special day!
Aaron Jones (United States of America captain): Tough night for the boys! For the West Indies on that wicket, I think a target of 175-180 would have been nice. We tried our best to bat well, but the execution of the plans weren't quite there. We gave it our all with the ball too but it's just one of those days! We will turn it around and come back strong on Sunday, surely.
Roston Chase is the Player of the Match: Obviously, my best figures. Great feeling to do it at home, in front of my family and friends. It's something we talked about before the match that if the opposition gets a good start in the powerplay, it's the spinners' job to get us back in the game. I worked very hard for it and it worked out. (On his catch) I was not having a good day, even got late for the team bus. But I love fielding at point, it gets me going. This is my favorite place to play. It's a beautiful stadium. They always cheer for us. (On South Africa game being a potential decider) It's our destiny. It's our goal to win the World Cup so anyone we play, we'll have to beat them to go ahead.
West Indies win by 9 wickets with 67 balls to spare!
As convincing as it can get for the West Indies! Not even 11 overs were required to chase the runs down and we were treated to some stunning shots from all three batters on show!
Shai Hope, who has replaced the injured Brandon King, stole the show with his 39-ball unbeaten 82! Glittered with 4 fours and 8 sixes, he knocked the wind out of the USA sails! Johnson Charles struck a couple of boundaries himself and finally, Nicholas Pooran finished it off with 27 runs, striking at 225 runs per 100 balls!
USA had no answer to the onslaught. Just no answer! They tried their best. They gave it their all, but were a comfortable second tonight, with the West Indies pounding them in the second innings. There were many who thought that this was their best chance of winning in this leg of the tournament, but the Rovman Powell-led team made a clear-cut statement that they were not to be taken lightly!
By virtue of this win, the Men in Maroon pick up their first points in the group and with a net run rate of 1.81, assure themselves a place in the semi-finals without having to depend on other results, should they win against South Africa!
As for the USA, they are knocked out of the race of reaching the semi-finals, barring the mathematics. They have one match left. That is against England, who themselves have to win without fail. So, it presents Aaron Jones' side a chance of using that pressure to their advantage and staging another upset to maybe, end the campaign on a high, or, quite incredibly, go through to the final four, with help from the Proteas!
10.5 Saurabh Netravalkar to Shai Hope, SIX! WEST INDIES WIN! Fittingly it's Hope who finishes this off. Fittingly he does it with a big one. Tries to go for a yorker but it comes out like a half-volley. Hope clears his front leg and thumps it over long off. Clean as a whistle!
10.4 Saurabh Netravalkar to Nicholas Pooran, shorter and wide, slaps it to long off to pick up a single
Only one big hit required now!
10.3 Saurabh Netravalkar to Nicholas Pooran, SIX MORE! He doesn't even want to see number 12 beside the overs column. Full and wide, tries to keep it away from his arc but Pooran is ready with his big reach to slash it over covers!
The 50-partnership comes up between Pooran and Hope!
Two more of these and it will be job well done for the West Indies!
10.2 Saurabh Netravalkar to Nicholas Pooran, SIX! TOO CLINICAL! Full and angling into the stumps, Pooran deposits it over long on with utmost power and penance!
10.1 Saurabh Netravalkar to Shai Hope, short and wide, smacks it hard but it drops short of long off
Saurabh Netravalkar [2.0-0-11-0] comes back into the attack.
Ketan: Disappointed with the USA's performance tonight! Thought this was their best chance of winning in the Super-8s but the West Indies have taken them to the sword.
Can the West Indies complete victory inside 12 overs? That should be the plan now. To get the net run rate ahead of England's, the idea has to be to finish it off inside the next 12 deliveries. Time for a drinks break.

9.6 Shadley van Schalkwyk to Nicholas Pooran, FOUR! Full and just outside off, goes straight down the ground, pummelling it on the sight screen!
9.6 Shadley van Schalkwyk to Nicholas Pooran, tries to go slow and wide but misses the tramline too!
9.5 Shadley van Schalkwyk to Shai Hope, HIGH IN THE AIRRRR.... BUT SAFE! Length ball just outside off, tries to slap it straight down the ground but gets late and the ball goes too high, falling between the bowler and the deep straight fielders
