Pitch Report
Don't want to be a bowler at this venue - the average winning first innings score here since 2022 is 205. It's a small ground - 65 meters and 61 meters square on either side so expect a lot of sixes. The pitch is very hard - there will be true bounce and carry to the keeper but it also means a lot of runs for the batters. You have to utilize that wind factor - go wide when you're bowling to the right-handers. You have to get them to hit into the strong breeze.

That will be all from this game but the next contest is less than 24 hours away at this very venue. Do join us for our coverage of it again at the same time with the first ball to be bowled at 7 PM local time (4:30 AM IST). For now, this is Sooryanarayanan Sesha taking your leave. Thank you so much for tuning in. See you again tomorrow - buh-bye for now!
Boy was that a power-hitting masterclass or what! What even is safe in T20s anymore? We'll need some time to digest this and ponder over the same. But if you're an Aussie supporter, you have every reason to be elated with this performance! A 3-0 lead with two games to go is as good as it gets. The West Indies continue to struggle though, particularly with the ball. They need answers and desperately at that!
Mitchell Marsh (Australia captain): Every series win's really special, especially with a young-ish group. Certainly wrapped to be 3-0 up. We're giving guys opportunities in different positions and we've played well collectively as a group so far. Thought we executed really well with the ball at the back end after being under pressure. Certainly no words for that innings from Tim David. We've seen that have hopefully come in and just enjoyed playing for Australia. It's hard but it should be fun. As a group we've played really good cricket.
Shai Hope (West Indies captain): I don't think we had enough runs on the board. On a pitch like that, we understand the dimensions of the ground, it's very difficult to defend 200 at St. Kitts. (On being unable to finish the innings with the bat) Would love to win the toss one of these days. It's something we pride ourselves on (finishing well) but we need to give credit to the Australians as well. But it's something we need to revisit. Tim played a brilliant innings. We need to get better at our execution, it's plain and simple. We haven't been executing as well as we've wanted to. It's something we always talk about, we understand it and we know we're falling short. But we're finding solutions for it.
Tim David is unsurprisingly the Player of the Match for his 102* off 37 balls. Here's what he has to say: (A statement to teams to bat him up the order?) Absolutely not, it was just having a great time out in the middle playing for the Australian team. It was nice to have a period at home and get my body right. Obviously picked up a niggle. You don't think about it too much. Didn't think I'd have the opportunity to score a hundred for Australia. Very grateful for it. The pitch was good. Strong breeze and a small ground so you have to back yourself. It's great to have positive experiences playing at this ground. You always use that experience and it was helpful tonight. I spend a lot of time practicing my power hitting and to be honest now I'm focusing on my shot selection. If you bat for a length of balls without getting out you get a big score. (On using Russell's bat) I've been using it for a year now. Thanks big man!
Time for the presentation!
10:23 PM local time (7:53 AM IST): Australia beat West Indies by 6 wickets to take an unassailable 3-0 lead in the series!
Tim David 102* (37) | Mitchell Owen 1/23 (2) Shai Hope 102* (57) | Romario Shepherd 2/39 (3.1)
It seemed as though the West Indies left about 15 runs out there with the bat. After what we've witnessed though, even 50 more may not have sufficed! Words fall short to describe this hitting exhibition that we've witnessed from Tim David as his century trumps Shai Hope's - identical scores with a difference of 20 deliveries! That tells you everything about the monstrosity of that knock, doesn't it?
Australia started quickly off the traps with Glenn Maxwell in some mood. But once he was run out in the second over, a couple more fell in the powerplay with the in-form Josh Inglis and skipper Mitchell Marsh perishing. Cameron Green couldn't reprise his heroics from the first two matches either and despite Australia maintaining a healthy scoring rate, they were clearly on the backfoot at the fall of the fourth wicket.
But then, David took charge. He walked in with one delivery left in the powerplay and justified his entry point in a colossal display of batting. He didn't seem to acknowledge the idea of a single - so much so that he even turned down the strike when off-spinner Roston Chase came into the attack and duly took full toll with three sixes and a boundary that over. It was Gudakesh Motie who first bore the wrath of David's onslaught though as the hard-hitting right-hander smashed four consecutive sixes off the tenth over to bring the asking rate down considerably.
Anything in his sight traveled as he regularly cleared the fence and hit it out of the stadium on a couple of occasions as well - he nearly did so a third time, only for the ball to bounce back off the roof! He took just 16 deliveries to raise a fifty and threatened to notch up the fastest T20I ton by a full member nation player and while he couldn't achieve that, he got to triple-digits in the end as the Aussies romped home with plenty of deliveries to spare. Amidst all of that, Mitchell Owen enjoyed the best seat in the house before doing his bit with a couple of lusty blows of his own. He would have loved every bit of that display that David put up alright! Stick around for the presentation...
16.1 Romario Shepherd to Tim David, FOUR! A maiden T20I ton to seal the deal for the Aussies! Comfortably the fastest by an Australian and the third fastest by a full member nation player. Tim David has given the West Indies a serious hiding! Full on the pads from around the wicket and all he does is pick it up around the corner. Races down to the fine leg fence and he lets out a huge roar while embracing his partner. This has been nothing short of a spectacular hitting exhibition at Warner Park as Australia wrap up the series by 6 wickets with 23 deliveries to spare!

15.6 Jediah Blades to Mitchell Owen, CAUGHT! BUT POWELL TRUDGES ONTO THE ROPES! That just about sums it up for the West Indies! Back of a length on middle and off stump with pace off. Owen biffs it down the ground towards long on where Powell pedals back and clings on, only to step onto the cushions in the end as he signals a six himself
Seems like we have a malfunctioning zing bail that needs replacing.
15.5 Jediah Blades to Tim David, low full toss on middle and off. David pushes it to long off and gets off strike
15.4 Jediah Blades to Tim David, FOUR! SHEER POWER! Back of a length on middle stump. That's a good delivery in all fairness but David's putting anything and everything away today. He backs away to flat-bat it with utter disdain with the umpire having to take evasive action. Races down to the fence and he moves to 97...
15.3 Jediah Blades to Tim David, gets the yorker on the money at the stumps as he goes wide of the crease. David can only squeeze it out
Just 15 away now, Australia. David on 93...
Australia Scored 200 runs in 15.2 overs
15.2 Jediah Blades to Mitchell Owen, dug short on middle and leg stump. Owen brings out a forearm swat to deep mid-wicket
15.2 Jediah Blades to Mitchell Owen, WIDE! Too wide of the batter's reach. Owen doesn't connect with his swipe as it lands way past the tramline
15.1 Jediah Blades to Mitchell Owen, SIX! MUSCLED! Short at the stumps. Owen takes it on with a swivel, helping it flat over deep square leg's head for a maximum
