Will Balor dethrone Reigns on SmackDown?

A red light flashes through the arena for a split second, stopping Roman Reigns in his tracks. The commentators don't acknowledge it. Was this a Demon tease? We shall find out soon, I guess.

Balor counters a Spear with an inside cradle for a very close two-count. He hits the reverse DDT and the Coup de Grace, but Roman kicks out. He low blows Balor in the process. The Tribal Chief then lays his challenger out with right hands and finishes him off with the Guillotine Choke.

Roman Reigns defeats Finn Balor to retain the Universal Championship

Balor counters a powerbomb with a double foot stomp. He is sent to the outside but traps Roman in the ring apron. Balor dives onto Roman on the outside and goes for the Coup de Grace, but Roman moves out of the way and hits the Superman Punch for a close two-count.

Roman misses a Superman Punch as Balor lands a Pele Kick. Both men are down.

Roman backs Balor into the corner and throws him across the ring. He runs the challenger into each corner but is floored by a dropkick to the knee. Balor kicks Roman multiple times but gets a headbutt for his troubles. He hits a sling blade but Roman connects a Uranage for a two-count.

Balor continues to be looked at by doctors as Roman finishes his overly long entrance. The challenger is ready to fight.

Roman Reigns vs. Finn Balor for the Universal Championship

Finn Balor comes out but is ambushed by The Usos. Jimmy and Jey seemingly injure his ribs with the steel stairs. But before they could do more damage, The Street Profits chase them out of the arena. As Balor is hurt in the ring, Roman Reigns' music hits. He slowly makes his way out and is licking his lips.

Finn Balor is interviewed backstage before his big title match. He says he will answer the questions over what would have happened if he did not get injured as Universal Champion in 2016.

Naomi questions Sonya Deville about her pending match on SmackDown, but is dismissed.

Dominik begins work on Sami's arm but the veteran seizes control with a thunderous clothesline. However, Dominik fights back and goes for the 619. Sami exits the ring but Rey Mysterio doesn't let him leave. Dominik dives onto him on the outside but takes his time in re-entering the ring. Sami takes advantage and beats him again with the Helluva Kick.

Carmella shows off her good looks for the camera backstage as Liv Morgan appears and scoffs behind her.

Corbin says he won money on Jake Paul's fight with Tyrone Woodley. Logan offers to donate some money to KO based on his outfit on SmackDown. KO tells Logan to never show his face in WWE again and is about to square up with him after trading shoves, but Corbin smacks him with the mike. He then chokeslams KO, before celebrating with Logan.

Corbin thanks KO for sending him on his path to stealing Big E's briefcase and eventually winning big in Las Vegas, to regain his lavish lifestyle. He has his own guest for SmackDown and brings out Logan Paul, as the crowd boos.

Kevin Owens welcomes everyone to the KO Show and brings out the happiest man in all of WWE, Happy Corbin. He goes for a hug on KO.

Edge says he hoped his feud with Seth Rollins was over, but it clearly isn't. He has to stop Rollins himself and challenges him to a rematch on next week's SmackDown. The MSG show is completely stacked!

Happy Corbin arrives to SmackDown in his Bentley. He will be a guest on the KO Show. This ought to be fun!

Paul Heyman tells Roman Reigns that Brock Lesnar will be on SmackDown next week, at Madison Square Garden. Brock was the one who called Heyman earlier.

Cesaro hits another uppercut followed by a Lariat. He swings Rollins around 20 times and locks in the Sharpshooter, but is forced to break the hold. Cesaro dumps Rollins to the outside and goes for another uppercut but this time, Rollins stops him with a chairshot.

Cesaro defeats Seth Rollins by disqualification

He continues to attack The Swiss Superman with the chair. He removes the part of the chair Edge has recently used and puts Cesaro in the Glasgow Grin. Rollins hits Cesaro with the Curb Stomp and is about to hit the Con-chair-to on him, before Edge rushes out. Rollins escapes the ring with a massive grin as Edge checks on Cesaro.

Cesaro hits Rollins with an uppercut on the top rope and tries for a superplex, but he suffers a Buckle Bomb instead. Rollins hits the Edge-o-Matic for a nearfall. Cesaro fights back with a powerbomb.
