Belal Muhammad is a practicing Muslim and believes that certain aspects of the religion are advantageous to a fighter's lifestyle and the reason why Muslim fighters have begun dominating the UFC.

According to the UFC welterweight, the dominance displayed by fighters such as Khamzat Chimaev and Islam Makhachev is down to certain restrictions that the religion places upon its believers. Muhammad also noted that Islam helps develop self-discipline from a young age.

'Remember the Name' recently appeared on The Joe Rogan Experience, where the two men discussed why Muslim fighters may carry certain advantages.

Belal Muhammad stated:

"[Islam] builds you up from a kid, like, 'I know I have to do this, this and this every single day. I'm not allowed to eat this, I'm not allowed to eat pork, I'm not allowed to gamble, not allowed to drink or anything like that.' So it puts you in [that place] and a lot of those things are worse for you as a fighter anyway. You shouldn't be drinking, you shouldn't be going to clubs. That's why you're starting to see the Muslims be the best fighters out there."

The most notable Muslim fighter in UFC history is undoubtedly Khabib Nurmagomedov, who paved the way for both Russian and Muslim fighters in the sport.

Nurmagomedov's relentless stamina and uncanny strength are a result of his lifelong dedication to martial arts, but have no doubt been bolstered by his abstinence from toxic substances and habits.

Belal Muhammad believes he would "walk through" Colby Covington

Many fans, including Dana White, believed that if Kamaru Usman did not exist then Colby Covington would have reigned supreme over the welterweight division. Covington and Usman have been regarded as the two best welterweights in the UFC for years, as 'Chaos' has tested Usman more than any fighter prior to Leon Edwards at UFC 278.

However, Belal Muhammad recently stated that Covington is severely overrated and labeled him as a "lesser version" of No.8-ranked UFC welterweight Sean Brady, whom Muhammad just beat.

'Chaos' is ranked No.2 in the division, but 'Remember the Name' believes that Covington's best performances have come against fighters on a downward trajectory.

Belal Muhammad told Joe Rogan during the aforementioned podcast:

"I think Colby sucks. I don't think he's as good as everyone thinks. I think I'd be able to walk through him, he's a lesser version of Sean Brady. If you look at the guys he's fought, he beat Woodley coming off of two losses, he beat Masvidal coming off of two losses, [he beat] Robbie Lawler coming off of two losses."
