Cain Velasquez's target and accused child-molester Harry Goularte has had their trial pushed back for a third time.

Velasquez was arrested in February 2022 and spent eight months in jail for attempted murder and 10 other gun related charges. The former UFC heavyweight champion reportedly shot at Goularte after he was alleged to have molested Velasquez's then 4-year-old son.

Cain Velasquez spent over 250 days in jail before he was eventually granted $1 million bail and has been awaiting trial ever since.

As first reported by MMAJunkie.com, the trial for Goularte has already been pushed back on two occasions. The court failed to contact Harry Goularte's mother, Patricia, first before she then failed to appear in court on a set date for the second time.

Now, for the third time, an extension has been granted once again, with a new trial date set for February 27. Judge Daniel T. Nishigaya ruled that the trial be pushed back another month at a hearing that only lasted one minute in Santa Clara County, California.

Patricia Goularte was also handed a body-attachment warrant, meaning she will be arrested if she fails to appear in court once again.

Cain Velasquez discusses prison experience

Many fight fans around the world felt justice had finally been served after Cain Velasquez was granted bail after spending 253 days in prison.

'Cardio Cain' was left in awe upon his release from the support he has received since being incarcerated. In an appearance on K100, Velasquez appeared for their Christmas show and discussed his experience whilst in prison.

The 40-year-old started off by thanking everybody for all the support during the most difficult period of his life:

"Yeah man, I did [see the support I got from the wrestling & MMA communities] and I have and I just wanna thank everyone. I truly appreciate everyone’s support in all of it. It means so much to me. It gave me a lot of strength when I was in there. So, yeah dude, I feel it and I just wanna thank everybody forever for that," Velasquez said.

Cain Velasquez also detailed his experience in protective custody, where he explained most of it was time spent on his own:

"They had me in protective custody. It was very low-key. Only a few people that I was able to kind of hang out with and I guess the good thing about it is you got a lot of alone time with yourself and the bad thing about it was you got a lot of alone time with yourself."
