Ahead of his fight at Lumpinee Boxing Stadium, Fabricio Andrade believes great things are in store for the venue.

ONE Championship is a couple of events deep into a long-term partnership with the famed Thai arena, which features primarily Muay Thai fights, but has also featured kickboxing and MMA.

An adopted native of Thailand, Fabricio Andrade will get his own shot at adding to the history of the arena in about three weeks when he fights John Lineker for the vacant bantamweight world title.

Speaking to the South China Morning Post, Andrade gave his opinions on the new partnership and the impact he sees it enacting on the Muay Thai community:

“I think it's great for the Muay Thai community. I think there is a lot of corruption and things like that in Muay Thai. And if ONE comes out and tries to do everything right, and those guys are getting paid more, I think they are just helping the Muay Thai community. And it should be really good for them. I trained in Thailand, and of course, I see many Muay Thai fighters. All of them are very happy and excited with that news, so it should be good.”

In addition to the weekly Friday Fights events, ONE Championship will also mount its second major event of the year at the famed venue. ONE Fight Night 7 on Prime Video brings Fabricio Andrade, who trains at Tiger Muay Thai in Phuket, into the limelight. He’ll get to fight in a ring, as opposed to the ONE Circle, in a rematch with former world champion John Lineker for the vacant ONE bantamweight world title.

The event will also be broadcast live and for free on Prime Video for all Amazon subscribers across North America.

Danny Kingad believes Fabricio Andrade has the edge over Lineker in rematch

Despite John Lineker being a far more experienced MMA fighter, many believe that Fabricio Andrade has an advantage in almost all areas over his veteran compatriot, including technical and mental abilities.

ONE Championship flyweight contender Danny Kingad is one of them. He recently spoke to The MMA Superfan about the fight between Lineker and Andrade, giving his thoughts on who he believes has the advantage, and why:

“I think Fabricio Andrade has the advantage in this one, after having already fought John Lineker once. He knows Lineker’s weaknesses, and he knows at what points he can win or lose. Mentally, physically, Andrade has the advantage.

Many onlookers believed that Fabricio Andrade had the edge in the scorecards during their first encounter, before the bout was called off for a low blow to John Lineker. The ONE Championship belt remains vacant.

ONE Fight Night 7 goes down on February 24th from Bangkok, Thailand. The event streams on Amazon Prime for North American subscribers, in US prime time.
