Alex Pereira has hit out at his ex-girlfriend Merle Christine, who he has accused of trying to gain new Instagram followers by speaking negatively on their past relationship, which 'Poatan' is eager to leave behind. He took to his Instagram story to get his point across.

The UFC light heavyweight champion shared a snippet of a podcast appearance he had made, captioning his Instagram story with a message for both Christine and her Instagram followers. He expressed outrage and even confusion over her alleged conduct regarding him.

Pereira's Instagram story was more vitriolic than his usual stoic delivery. However, the Brazilian kickboxing legend seems fed up with his continued association with Christine in the public eye.

"This rat won't leave me alone. Forget me, damn. She does everything to gain followers. Followers through a negative way, for what? People who follow Merle, please stop following me. After having the audacity to mislead her husband, she has the audacity to come here and comment on things. Make a video and talk about your own side, vermin."

Pereira has not been shy about the fallout of his relationship with Christine, who he accused of lying to him about her relationship status. As the UFC light heavyweight kingpin alleged, Christine was married when the two started dating, which is something Pereira accuses her of keeping from him.

While Christine spoke out against Pereira's claims, asserting that he was well aware of her relationship status, they split up and have not seen eye-to-eye since. Pereira, meanwhile, has been seen in the company of other women since, including UFC women's strawweight Polyana Viana.

Alex Pereira had accused his ex-girlfriend of being physically abusive

Alex Pereira is one of the most intimidating fighters on the UFC roster, having captured undisputed championship gold at middleweight and light heavyweight, courtesy of his crushing punching power. Despite his imposing stature, 'Poatan' claims to have been the victim of physical abuse, perpetrated by his ex-girlfriend.

While he was initially silent following his breakup with Merle Christine, the 205-pound champion responded to her account of their separation by alleging that she had not only misled him by still being married, but also physically attacked him during their relationship.
