Conor McGregor went on one of his now-famous Twitter rants on March 21, hurling insults at the top coaches in the game, including Firas Zahabi, Trevor Wittman, Mike Brown and Javier Mendez.
'The Notorious' then appeared to suggest that the coaching style at Straight Blast Gym under head coach John Kavanagh was superior to theirs.
In the process, he lashed out at Khabib Nurmagomedov, stating:
"The head of the style [referring to Nurmagomedov] is too fat a bitch and afraid to compete again. So we win."

As expected, Nurmagomedov's former manager and friend Ali Abdelaziz hit back at 'The Notorious', suggesting that McGregor was alive only because there was a referee when he fought 'The Eagle'. Abdelaziz told McGregor to be grateful to Herb Dean for sparing his life:
"Hey one more thing before I ignore your a**. If it was not for Herb Deen on October 6th when you guys fought you would have been dead, you have to be happy you still alive you should be grateful to him he spared your life. You will always be our b*tch"
McGregor alluding to his coaching philosophy's success on 'The Ultimate Fighter' (TUF) and calling out Nurmagomedov appears to be a new angle with which the Irishman is attacking the Dagestani fighter.
'The Eagle' recently stepped away as coach and left the MMA game altogether. With that in mind, this looks to be another of McGregor's attempts to goad him into a rematch.
Conor McGregor plays coach in the latest edition of 'The Ultimate Fighter'
Conor McGregor took up the mantle of coach for the second time in the latest season of TUF. He previously appeared in season 22 of TUF, where he coached against Urijah Faber. This time around, McGregor is set to face off against Michael Chandler on the show. The two are expected to headline a pay-per-view sometime later this year.
This may be one of the reasons McGregor brought up his coaching props in his now-deleted Twitter tirade. He has, however, also expressed respect and admiration for Chandler as a coach, stating:
"There's nothing but respect and admiration. I like his style and he likes my style."
