Khamzat Chimaev and Luke Rockhold were recently captured testing one another's mettle during an intense grappling session. Chimaev is revered for his relentless wrestling style, while Rockhold is known more for his slick Brazilian jiu-jitsu skillset.
With 'Borz' having withdrawn from his scheduled clash with Robert Whittaker at UFC Saudi Arabia in June, fans welcomed the sight of the middleweight contender back in training.
Chimaev is one of the biggest talents in the UFC, but has been plagued by several illnesses and injuries that have halted the once furious progress of his career.
Rockhold, a former UFC middleweight champion, is currently preparing for the Craig Jones Invitational, a BJJ tournament that takes place on Aug. 16-17 with the winner receiving $1 million.
Footage of the pair grappling was uploaded to X by @sa_gwang.

Khamzat Chimaev's UFC career on the line at UFC 308, says former heavyweight
Khamzat Chimaev exploded onto the UFC stage in July, 2020. In his first two fights, he set the promotional record for the shortest time between UFC victories, at just 10 days.
But after securing three wins in as many months and being touted as the future of the sport, his career began to slow down. 'Borz' has only competed twice since his UFC 279 clash with Kevin Holland in September 2022.
Furthermore, he missed weight by over five pounds at UFC 279, having been scheduled to fight Nate Diaz in the main event. After the weigh-ins, Diaz refused to face 'Borz', who was paired against Holland.
Following his recent withdrawal ahead of UFC Saudi Arabia, and subsequent re-booking against Robert Whittaker at UFC 308 in October, former UFC heavyweight Brendan Schaub believes the Chechen's career with the promotion is on the line.
Schaub said:
"He’s on his way to the arena, the bus gets blown up, the wheels falls. I don’t give a f*ck what it is. For whatever reason, even if it’s not his fault; if he were to miss weight, if he doesn’t make it to that cage, his career in the UFC is over."
