Brendan Schaub thinks Alex Pereira should fight Jiri Prochazka at light heavyweight, while expressing his surprise over the Brazilian's physical stature and size.

Recently speaking on his YouTube channel, Brendan Schaub shared his thoughts on the main event of UFC 281. While speaking about the size advantage that Pereira had over Adesanya, whom the Brazilian stopped in round five, Schaub suggested that Pereira vs. Jiri Prochazka would be a "great fight."

"Also, just his size advantage. My god. I'll tell you guys how big 'Izzy' is, and then you'll see Alex [Pereira] next to him... This looks like 'Izzy' vs [Petr] Yan. Alex could fight at 205. I don't know if he wants to. But Alex Pereira and Jiri would be a great fight. I don't know who'd win that fight."

Alex Pereira beat Israel Adesanya for the third time in his combat sports career this past weekend, taking the middleweight title away from the Nigerian-born Kiwi in what was the first time the two rivals fought in an MMA bout.

'Poatan' managed to secure a knockout in round five, catching Adesanya with a vicious left hook and following up with a barrage of strikes and shots until the referee stopped the fight.

Alex Pereira credits his corner for giving him the inspiration to go for a knockout against Israel Adesanya

Alex Pereira has been crowned the new king of the middleweight division after his impressive knockout win over his former rival Israel Adesanya at UFC 281.

The two kickboxers have history, with Pereira beating Adesanya in kickboxing twice in the past. UFC 281 saw the two rivals meet in an MMA bout, with many favoring the Nigerian-born Kiwi owing to his experience. However, 'Poatan' shocked and surprised many with his tenacity and power.

During his post-fight interview, the Brazilian revealed that a dose of inspiration from former light heavyweight champ Glover Teixeira inspired him to go for the knockout in the fifth round:

"I knew it was going to be a very hard fight...I tried to pace myself, but going into the last round, my corner and Glover kept it real with me. I looked at him and said, 'Do I have to knock him out?’ And Glover said, ‘You do have to knock him out.’ And then I said, ‘OK, let’s do it.'"
