It seems like freshly minted Dana White’s Contender Series graduate Nick Klein has cracked the code on delivering in high-stakes moments and making a lasting impression. In a night where first impressions counted more than ever, Klein stunned fans and UFC top brass alike with a 31-second submission victory over Brazil's Heraldo Souza.
Klein took on Souza on eight days' notice at DWCS 76. Within moments of the opening bell, the 29-year-old secured a swift takedown and transitioned into a dominant position. From there, he locked in a rear-naked choke that forced Souza to tap out in 31 seconds. With this win, he also secured the coveted UFC contract.
However, according to fans, it wasn’t just Klein’s performance that sealed his UFC fate. In his post-fight cage-side exchange with Dana White, Klein asserted that Jon Jones is the "greatest fuc*ing fighter to walk this earth"—a sentiment that the UFC CEO has long championed. White, who has often defended his stance on Jones being the 'GOAT', simply replied, "I agree with you."

Dana White vows to remove media control from rankings at DWCS post-fight press conference
UFC CEO Dana White has claimed that the media will no longer have control over the fighter rankings following a disagreement with Khalil Rountree Jr.’s No. 8 ranking after his loss to Alex Pereira at UFC 307.
White expressed frustration over the ranking system, particularly since Rountree Jr. had been leading on the scorecards before being stopped by Pereira. Rountree put on a gritty performance in the main event, one that White and many fans believe should have been better rewarded.
Speaking at the post-fight press conference of the recently concluded episode of Dana White's Contender Series, he said:
“I can’t handle the incompetence. I can’t take it anymore it’s driving me crazy. I can’t let people that I don’t believe know what the f*ck they’re talking about deal with the rankings anymore. I have to figure out a solution. Tomorrow I have a meeting with a group of people who are coming to me saying that they have the solution to this problem, and god I hope they’re right. The media will no longer control the rankings in the UFC.”
