Bryce Mitchell's nickname is 'Thug Nasty' because of how he is "on the streets." He gave a vague explanation for his moniker back in 2016 in a post-fight interview after his win at WSOF 27.

In the post-fight interview, the Arkansas native was asked why he was nicknamed 'Thug Nasty' despite being "clean cut," "well spoken," "nice," "funny" and "charming." Mitchell responded with the following:

"You ain't seen me on the streets man, I'm straight thug!!"

'Thug Nasty' shared a clip of the interview on Twitter.

Bryce Mitchell also has a career as a country rap artist. His rap moniker is 'Thugnasty'. In December 2021, Mitchell released his debut country rap album titled Pasture Fire. The seven-track album is available on Mitchell's YouTube channel.

Bryce Mitchell: UFC Fighter, country rapper... conspiracy theorist?

With a thriving career inside the cage and a burgeoning rap career outside of it, Mitchell is also very outspoken about various issues.

The No.10-ranked UFC featherweight believes that the SARS-CoV-2 virus was manufactured by the US government and released deliberately. He is an outspoken gun rights activist who believes that the US government staged mass shootings to enforce stricter regulations on gun ownership. He even called the Federal Reserve "corrupt," claiming that they were manipulating the US Dollar.

Back in October of 2022, 'Thug Nasty' took to social media to call out Joe Rogan for the commentator's comments about Flat Earthers. Rogan has been a vocal critic of the flat Earth theory and its proponents and even confronted his friend Eddie Bravo about Bravo's convictions about the Earth being flat.

Bryce Mitchell put out a video challenging the multi-faceted UFC commentator to a debate on the flat Earth theory, stating that he could prove that the Earth is flat.

Mitchell holds an impressive 15-0 record as a professional MMA fighter. He has nine finishes in his career, all via submission within the first two rounds. The 28-year-old holds wins over respectable competition like Edson Barboza and Andre Fili. He suffered the first professional loss of his MMA career against Ilia Topuria via a second-round arm-triangle choke at UFC 282.

'Thug Nasty' is scheduled to face 6th-ranked Josh Emmett at UFC 296 on December 16, 2023. He will attempt to score the second straight win after defeating Dan Ige via unanimous decision in September 2023.
