Amid the recent wave of controversy, Conor McGregor has found support from fellow Irish MMA fighter Sinead Kavanagh. She took to her Instagram Stories with a backstage picture of her and McGregor in a deep embrace, captioning it with some heartfelt words.
At the moment, McGregor is dealing with the fallout from being found liable for assault in a civil case wherein he battled sexual assault allegations from Nikita Hand.
Despite facing tremendous backlash and criticism, one supporter emerged from the masses in the form of Kavanagh, who wrote:
"Did I mention I love my friend"
McGregor caught wind of Kavanagh's post and subsequently shared it on his own account. McGregor has vowed to appeal the jury's verdict.
While sympathy and support has unsurprisingly been few and far between for McGregor, one source of it has been another controversial combat sports figure in Andrew Tate, who is himself dealing with legal issues, albeit ones that could lead to more serious consequences.
Tate is facing criminal charges relating to human trafficking, sexual assault, and the formation of an organized crime syndicate. He took to X to pen a lengthy statement in support of McGregor, while dismissing the merits of sexual assault cases filed by women against wealthy men.
Much like McGregor, Tate has protested his innocence and believes that the Irishman being found liable serves as a negative precedent.
Conor McGregor was mocked by Mike Perry
Among Conor McGregor's criticis is BKFC standout Mike Perry, who was once on good terms with the Irishman.
Unfortunately, 'Platinum's' TKO loss in a boxing match to Jake Paul led to his relationship with 'The Notorious' souring. The two have gone back and forth, with Perry recently taunting him on X:
"You're fired"
His words were said in response to McGregor's civil cour case and also served as a callback to McGregor's previous claims of firing Perry, which 'Platinum' contested.
