Dan Hooker calls Power Slap League champion the ‘Baddest man on the planet’ after thunderous finish 

Ron 'Wolverine' Bata, the new Power Slap League heavyweight champion, has been hailed as the "Baddest man on the planet" by UFC lightweight contender Dan Hooker.

The finale of Dana White's Power Slap Championship Season One recently took place at the UFC Apex facility in Las Vegas, Nevada. It featured an eagerly anticipated heavyweight slap championship match between Bata and Darius 'The Destroyer' Mata-Varona.

Despite going into the fight with a perfect record against Bata, 'The Destroyer' was unable to continue his winning streak, with Bata landing a thunderous slap that proved too much for his opponent to handle. The win secured the championship for Bata, who was congratulated on his victory by Hooker on Twitter:

"Baddest man on the planet."

Dana White compares the current stage of Power Slap League to the initial days of UFC

During the post-event press conference for the season finale of the Power Slap League, Dana White, the league's founder, compared the current stage of the show to the early days of the UFC. According to the UFC honcho, the Power Slap League is changing the lives of its contestants financially, much as the UFC did for its fighters in the early days of the promotion.

White emphasized that the contestants are all grown men and women who have made their own decisions about wanting to compete in the sport. He went on to explain how the league is providing life-changing opportunities for its fighters:

"First of all, these are all grown men and women who make their own decisions on wanting to compete in this sport. Number two, these guys are changing their families' lives. Some of these guys... yeah, [they're] gonna walk out of here with $45,000... Some of these guys probably don't make $45,000 a year, they made it in one night. You know what used to drive Lorenzo Fertitta crazy when we first started the UFC? Everybody who competed here had jobs. So they would have to train, and go back to work. That's how things start."
