According to Dana White, the upcoming UFC 284 event headlined by Islam Makhachev and Alexander Volkanovski is potentially going to break a Conor McGregor pay-per-view record.

During the post-event press conference for UFC Fight Night 218, the 53-year-old UFC president stated that the clash between the two UFC champions next weekend is already raking in record pay-per-view pre-buys.

White believes the event would break the record for the highest UFC pay-per-view buys in Australia and New Zealand, previously held by 'Notorious':

"I mean it's a monster fight and you know, just the gate alone out of there is going to be an MSG-type gate. And the pre-buys for pay-per-view... is beating all the fights of its type and it is probably going to break the record for pay-per-view in Australia and New Zealand, the UFC you know, all [time] record, which was Conor and somebody, but it's looking like it's going to break that record."

After an almost two-year hiatus from the sport, the promotion's megastar Conor McGregor is scheduled to make his MMA comeback in the upcoming season of The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) set to premiere this May.

The Irishman will be a coach in the show opposite fellow UFC star Michael Chandler. The pair will go head-to-head in the octagon during the season finale. However, the date and location of the fight are yet to be finalized.

Michael Chandler's prediction for his fight against Conor McGregor

Michael Chandler is extremely confident of emerging victorious against Conor McGregor when the duo meet in the octagon later this year.

During a recent interview with ESPN MMA's Brett Okamoto, 'Iron' opined that he is more powerful and possesses a better ground game than the Irishman. Although the American considers McGregor to be an elusive fighter, he predicted that he would finish 'Notorious' in the second round:

"I do think I have more power. I do think I have more wrestling, better wrestling, better grappling, but with that Conor is very good... at missing punches, getting out of the way of the punches by a gnat's eyelash, a millimeter, and then countering... If I want to pick him up and put him down, I can pick him up and put him down and put a beating on him, and get a submission that way. I believe I finish Conor in the second round. That's my 'Mystic Mike' take on this."
