Top-five ONE strawweight contender Danial Williams isn't all that impressed with recently crowned strawweight champion Joseph Lasiri. With that in mind, he's eying up a matchup with him.
'Mini T' made his ONE Championship debut against current Muay Thai flyweight Rodtang Jitmuangnon. After coming up short, Williams transitioned to MMA, where he currently holds a 3-1 record.
Despite not taking part in a Muay Thai bout since April 2021, Danial Williams is paying attention to the sport. He shared his thoughts on the most recent title fight in an interview with ONE, saying:
"I’d love to fight Lasiri. Seeing that fight, I’m like I cannot lose to him if he’s just going to play it safe and run away. A big fight like that, he had nothing to lose and still has his title. Then again, he obviously wasn’t knocked out or anything like that, but I expected a lot more from him."
The Moroccan-Italian striker took down Prajanchai P.K. Saenchai to secure ONE's strawweight Muay Thai belt. With it, he capped off an incredible career turnaround that saw him rebound after losing his four bouts inside the circle.

Danial Williams excited for ONE to debut in the U.S.
Like millions of fans around the world, the 29-year-old contender is looking forward to watching ONE Championship make its North American debut in May.
The promotion will touch down in the United States for the first time with ONE Fight Night 10 on Prime Video. The premier event is slated to be headlined by the trilogy between Demetrious Johnson and Adriano Moraes.
Danial Williams is excited about the prospect of the first-ever American event bringing more attention to Asia's leading combat sports promotion. He told ONE:
"It’s cool that ONE is going over there not just showcasing MMA. Showcasing Muay Thai, kickboxing, submission grappling. Just showing what they do as a brand and how they are different instead of being compared to the UFC all the time. Just show that we are different and we showcase these different martial arts as well."
