Dana White recently conducted a press conference with the eight competitors who are vying for the inaugural Power Slap League championship. While White's latest venture has been met with resistance from fight fans, he continues to dismiss the notion by citing the league's strong viewership numbers since its debut on television.

White doubled down on his stance on defending the Power Slap League, claiming that his latest endeavor has been unfairly maligned. He also spoke about the time when bodybuilding/Hollywood icon Arnold Schwarzenegger and YouTube star Logan Paul dabbled in the business of slap-fighting.

Schwarzenegger, who has ventured into other sports-related businesses, partnered with Logan Paul to host a live Slap Fighting Championship. The event took place in Columbus, Ohio, on March 5 as part of the Arnold Classic, an annual multi-sport weekend exposition.

While speaking to the media, Dana White also mentioned comedian Chris Rock finally speaking out against Will Smith and the controversial Oscar moment when the Hollywood star slapped the comedian. Rock described Smith's behavior as a textbook display of selective outrage, something White believes the Power Slap League has been a victim of. He stated:

"The media has been incredible through this [Power Slap League] thing. If any of you saw the Chris Rock [comedy] special that is out.... Selective outrage, that's what happened here with Power Slap. Slapping [slap-fighting] has been around for 10 years."

White then added that the slap event organized by Arnold Schwarzenegger and Logan Paul was unregulated but was not criticized, unlike his slap-fighting event:

"Logan Paul and Arnold Schwarzenegger had a slap event, unregulated, no medicals, no nothing right.... Nobody said boo. There wasn't one story written. We do the right things, we go for approval, we test, we invest millions of dollars in it. We make it safe and everybody is outraged."

Dana White defends Power Slap League, citing viewership statistics to back up his claim that the league is a success

UFC President Dana White has stood firm in defense of his latest venture, Power Slap League, despite widespread public disapproval. There have been concerns about the slap-fighting league's brutality, low pay, and rapidly dwindling audience.

The launch of All Elite Wrestling's (AEW) All Access has sparked rumors that White will be forced to discontinue his latest venture. Meanwhile, Dana White has continued to defend the Power Slap League's viewership numbers, saying that it is on par with the NBA (National Basketball Association).

Speaking to the media at the aforementioned press conference, White stated:

"I'll tell you what, the numbers don't lie. We have over a billion views on social media. Just on TikTok alone, we are at almost a billion. Instagram is doing 38.5 million views a week. Rumble had the right to this internationally and just the international show is at around 15 million views."
