ONE veteran Eduard Folayang recently shared his thoughts on the upcoming welterweight title fight between Christian Lee and Kiamrian Abbasov.
In the fight, Lee will be looking to become a two-division world champion by dethroning welterweight king Abbasov. In an interview with ONE, Folayang gave his take on the matchup, predicting:
"I think the size advantage will be the biggest factor that Abbasov has an advantage in going into this fight since he’s a natural welterweight. On the other hand, I think Christian Lee will want to showcase his skills and techniques in that fight by overcoming that glaring advantage from Abbasov. However, he might not be able to nullify the size advantage by taking Abbasov to the ground because Abbasov is also skilled on that area."
Lee and Abbasov are set to square off in their highly-anticipated title bout at ONE on Prime Video 4 on November 18 at the Singapore Indoor Stadium.

Already an international superstar in the world of mixed martial arts, Lee is looking to elevate his stardom even more by becoming a two-division champion.
Meanwhile, Abbasov catapaulted onto the main stage after signing to ONE in 2018. 'Brazen' went from signee to champion in just three appearances, which was no doubt a remarkable feat.
Eduard Folayang expects the pair's bout to be a back-and-forth affair, with Abbasov entering as the favorite given his championship status in the division:
"We can’t deny that Christian Lee is one of the most complete fighters we have on the roster, so it will be a really exciting matchup. I think the champion will be the favored fighter in this matchup, just because he’s already at the top of his division."
Abbasov is coming off of a loss to Reinier de Ridder in what was an attempt to claim the light heavyweight crown. Despite the submission defeat, Abbasov still has a lot of hype behind him.
