A former UFC lightweight recently sounded off on the PFL brass after several Bellator fighters expressed their frustration with their inactivity. The fighters publicly voiced their displeasure for the lack of communication and having bouts canceled.
Among the fighters who voiced their frustrations were current champions Corey Anderson, Patchy Mix and Patricio 'Pitbull' Freire, who felt as though their respective careers were being wasted. They noted that they wanted to be more active, but the constant uncertainty has resulted in extended layoffs and money wasted on training camps for fights that were then canceled.
Former UFC and Bellator competitor Josh Thomson was the latest to put the PFL on blast for not addressing the fighters' concerns.
During the latest episode of his WEIGHING IN podcast, 'The Punk' took aim at Donn Davis and Peter Murray for not being transparent with the fighters. Thomson claimed they have proven that they are not capable of being at the helm of a major MMA promotion and should be much more educated on the sport:
"When the clown show is at the top...not giving you any answers, there's no one to talk to...Let's be 100% honest, Donn Davis and Peter Murray, they have no clue how to run a promotion...They have no clue what it's like to handle fighters, get them fights...Davis came out personally and said, 'Look, I have no time to watch fights.' Then what are you doing as a promoter? Bring somebody in that can manage it." [48:40]

Ex-UFC lightweight Josh Thomson offers suggestions to PFL brass
In addition to taking shots at the PFL brass for how they have managed their roster since acquiring Bellator, former UFC lightweight Josh Thomson offered a suggestion on what they should consider.
During the aforementioned episode, Thomson brought up Donn Davis' comments about not watching fights and suggested he should consider watching more. He mentioned that having a better understanding of his fighters in his promotion will allow the PFL brass to identify which of them can become bigger stars:
"I understand it's [Davis'] show. You do need to watch the fights...As a promoter, it's his job to know which fighters he is promoting, which fighters he potentially wants to put more money into, which fighters to dial it back the money in." [49:25]
