ONE strawweight world champion Xiong Jing Nan has been on a rampage through the flyweight division.
While she awaits her next fight booking, here’s a look back at her run of dominance through the division and her world title defense against Singaporean Tiffany Teo. The fight in its entirety was uploaded to ONE Championship’s YouTube channel.
Xiong Jing Nan cut Tiffany Teo early in the fight, landing right hand after right hand against the challenger. Teo looked to utilize her perceived grappling advantage, dragging Xiong to the mat to look for submission finishes.
However, as the fight progressed, Teo’s efforts toward the takedown began to fall flat against Xiong’s reflexes. While Xiong would successfully defend her world title by unanimous decision, the left hand of Teo would leave the champ’s eye bruised and swollen.
Xiong Jing Nan is awaiting her next fight booking, having cleared out the division. The strawweight queen has run circles around the division, most recently winning a trilogy fight against Angela Lee by unanimous decision.
While she hasn’t put together a win streak yet, Meng Bo has got plenty of people talking with her lightning-fast KO over Jenelyn Olsim last year. Xiong Jing Nan and Meng Bo could put together a hard-hitting China vs. China world title fight in 2023, especially if Meng can pick up another win in the division.

While debating who the best male MMA fighter in ONE Championship is a much rockier endeavor, the women’s MMA divisions are far more clear-cut.
Xiong Jing Nan and Angela Lee have ruled their divisions - strawweight and atomweight, respectively - for years.
The pair has a long history between them, as they have tried to answer the question of who the best female fighter in ONE is.
They have fought each other three times, with Xiong most recently winning a trilogy fight between the two. As both regularly compete at different weights, neither Xiong or Lee have had success against each other when moving to their opponent’s weight class.
Their last meeting took place four months ago at ONE Fight Night 2 in September. The two fought a highly entertaining and competitive fight, with Xiong Jing Nan securing a unanimous decision on the judges’ scorecards.
Each of their three fights have created incredible moments in the ONE circle, and solidified the best rivalry in ONE Championship.
Of the two, Angela Lee may have more challenges immediately ahead in her weight class (queue up Ham Seo Hee, Stamp Fairtex, and Denice Zamboanga).
Plans to get Angela Lee back in the circle are currently unknown and could be on hold for a while as the Lee family continues to process the tragic passing of Angela’s younger sister, Victoria.
