"He's given me a black eye" - Sean Strickland goes back-and-forth with fellow UFC middleweight over fist fight outside training

Sean Strickland and Chris Curtis revealed that they have fought twice outside of training.

Strickland and Curtis have become close friends while training at Xtreme Couture. Both UFC fighters have been vocal about their love for sparring, which has likely led to some wars in the gym. Those intense training sessions apparently got out of control twice. The No.7 ranked UFC middleweight had this to say on Twitter:

“Me and curt have been in exactly 2 fist fights outside of training and its always been his fault.....”

Curtis believes the narrative is being misrepresented on social media. The No.14 ranked welterweight responded to Strickland by saying:

“Sean Literally punched me first both times. But I am the bad guy? All onlookers will confirm that this is FAKE NEWS and Strickland is entirely at fault”

Strickland is sticking with his story by blaming Curtis for their gym fights. He responded to his friend by explaining his point of view:

“A big angry black man rips off his gloves and runs up to me telling me I'm a POS and I punch him in self defense.. tell me curt we're you just trying to have a civil discussion?!?! The only time he's ever gave me a black eye btw.......”

Chris Curtis says Sean Strickland wouldn’t be able to tell the story in person without laughing

It should be noted that Chris Curtis and Sean Strickland are close friends. Although the fight stories are legitimate, they are still training partners and friends. With that said, Curtis wanted to set the record straight before ending his social media interaction with Strickland. The UFC welterweight had this to say:

“LMAO This is NOT how this encounter went. Twice! Bruh I swear to God if you guys get him to tell you the story in person he can't do it with a straight face cause he knows"

Chris Curtis is coming off a dominant win against Joaquin Buckley in December. ‘The Action Man’ will return to the Octagon against Kelvin Gastelum on April 8 at UFC 287. Meanwhile, Sean Strickland won his last fight against Nassourdine Imavov on short notice. He is now looking to take some time to recover before continuing his climb toward the top of the UFC middleweight rankings.
