Johan Ghazali has always tried to separate himself from his peers, and Superbon believes he just saw firsthand what makes the teenage phenom such a special talent.

Superbon has seen firsthand what makes the Malaysian-American sensation tick, and he believes it all boils down to an unwavering drive for greatness.

In an interview with ONE Championship, the ONE interim featherweight kickboxing world champion said Ghazali has an insane work ethic and already believes he can capture world title success.

Superbon said:

"It's going good with Johan. He's active, he has a lot of energy, he's hungry. He's still young and he's hungry. I don't see kids who are 17 [18] so hungry to win, aggressive, and active in training. At 17 [18], everyone wants to play around. But him, he wants to be a big star. That is good for the young generation."

Ghazali has set up camp at Superbon Training Camp in Bangkok in preparation for a possible return to the ONE Championship ring.

The 18-year-old has been going through the wringer working with Superbon, former ONE bantamweight kickboxing world champion Petchtanong Petchfergus, Thai legend Nong-O, and famed coach Trainer Gae.

As for Superbon, he's in training camp as well preparing for his world title shot against ONE featherweight Muay Thai world champion Tawanchai PK Saenchai.

Superbon will face Tawanchai for the second time in the main event of ONE 170 on Jan. 24, 2025, at Impact Arena.

Johan Ghazali puts on a no-pain, no-gain mantra while training under Superbon

Johan Ghazali knows training with Superbon and Trainer Gae would be the hardest camp he would ever be in during his young career.

In an interview with ONE Championship, Ghazali said he's beyond exhausted every time he ends the day with Superbon in the Thai megastar's Bangkok gym.

Ghazali said in an interview with ONE Championship:

"I feel like I learn so much in one sparring session with Superbon, and Trainer Gae, he pushes me hard. Every day I can't breathe, I'm so tired, but I'm not complaining. This is what I came here for. I'm learning fast, I'm improving, I'm progressing. Watch out."
