Ariel Helwani recently addressed Dana White's latest update regarding Jon Jones and claimed that White confirmed what Helwani has been reporting about the situation.
Helwani noted that at the UFC 316 post-fight presser, White finally revealed that Jones was offered and accepted a deal to fight Tom Aspinall.

Championship Rounds posted a clip from the latest episode of The Ariel Helwani Show, which shows the Canadian journalist sharing his reaction to White's comments regarding Jones. He mentioned that White confirmed his reports and hinted that there will be more disappointing updates to come regarding the fight. Helwani said:
"The mockery of this [UFC] belt... This sport... The organization that [Jones] has made over the last couple months. And for the first time, we've gotten some real answers from Dana White. For the first time, we've gotten some real clarity from [White]."
He added:
"You may not have noticed it face value... but right here on this Godforsaken show I've been telling you the story from the beginning and on Saturday he finally confirmed it. And here's a spoiler, in a couple weeks he'll confirm it even further."

Ariel Helwani takes aim at Jon Jones for holding up UFC heavyweight division
Ariel Helwani also took aim at Jon Jones for his antics. In the aforementioned episode, Helwani mentioned that Tom Aspinall has been greatly affected because Jones has constantly delayed the negotiations and claimed he has no interest in fighting the Brit.
Helwani said:
"We just want to see the division move on, we want to see [Aspinall], who we think has a very high ceiling... Progress with his life. We want to see him live out the same type of dream, the same type of career that [Jones] and other champions have benefited from. But, Jon is begging [the UFC] to make the announcement... He's walking away, so he doesn't have to fight Tom."
