With an emphatic performance against the undefeated Paulo Costa, Israel Adesanya made his sensational return to the octagon after a lackluster outing against Yoel Romero at UFC 248.

When questioned about his decision to mention Jones' deceased mother into the trash-talk, Adesanya had a response that reverberated his own personal emotions.

"Exactly, don't mention my father. I don't give a f*** if your mom's dead. I am sure she is a beautiful women and a beautiful soul but I don't give a f*** if she's dead. Don't mention my Dad. Do not mention mu family, because this is business, this is work. Yeah, sure, mention my coach, cool. Don't mention anything personal, because when you do that, do you think you can get down and dirty. Motherf**** I am from the gutter. I can get grimy. You don't understand Nigerian. Trust me. You don't want this war."

It all started when Adesanya mentioned in a tweet that his father has already told him how to beat Jones. The comment did not go down too well with Jones, who responded by targeting Adesanya's father for not letting his son fight him inside the octagon.

Additionally, Jones also sent a sharp reminder to Israel Adesanya about his KO loss during his kickboxing career. Addressing Jones, Israel Adesanya stated Jones is lucky he hasn't come for his other family members yet.

"He wants to get down and dirty and start mentioning family members. And people are like, oh! mention his Dad instead. It's not upto you to decide what I do. You mentioned my family this whole f****ng season. You're lucky I didn't come for other members of your family." Adesanya said.
