Devin Haney and Ryan Garcia are just days away from the highly anticipated WBC super lightweight title clash, set to take place on April 20.

Having faced off six times in the amateur ranks, the pair are familiar with each other in the ring. Ahead of their seventh meeting, however, the stakes have been raised. 'KingRy' has dubbed the clash as a "game 7, winner takes all" event, and tempers have flared from both sides in the build-up to the fight.

The pair recently arrived in New York and shared a face-off in front of the media, during which things turned ugly. After briefly exchanging words, 'The Dream' took to shoving his opponent in the face before they were separated.

Garcia could be heard taunting the WBC champion about his mother in videos of the incident, and the undefated super lightweight has now explained why he chose to push 'KingRy'.

During a recent interview with Fight Hub TV, he said:

"Some things shouldn't be said, there are some things you just don't say. He brought up my mom, why, I don't know what was his point. At the end of the day, I can see him bringing up my dad because my dad is my coach and my dad is, we're in boxing together. But my mom has nothing to do with anything that we've got going on. It was just a little weird for him to do that."

Ryan Garcia says he's ready to "destroy" Devin Haney

Ryan Garcia and Devin Haney have finally arrived at fight week for their WBC super lightweight title clash.

The bout was announced in February, after which Garcia displayed some concerning behavior online, leading to doubts that the fight would take place. 'KingRy' discussed the use of alchohol and cannabis during pre-fight press conferences, and took to X to make a variety of wild claims.

But with just several days before the fight, it appears that everything will go ahead as planned, and Garcia recently shared his prediction for his clash with 'The Dream'. He said this:

"I'm a little f***ing mental, but I'm ready to destroy a motherf***er.... In the ring it's gonna be a good first round. See what he's got going. Then start touching him a little bit... 30 seconds [left] I'm gonna drop him, I'mma let his a** get up. Second round, I'm gonna knock him the f**k out."
