Jake Paul continues to angle for a boxing match against Conor McGregor. The former YouTube star took to Twitter on December 22 to call out the former UFC double champ, claiming that he would easily knock him out if they were to clash.

Following McGregor stating that he doesn't care about celebrity boxing matches, Twitter user @azinolawls wrote:

"Conor will defo fight in that genre of boxing he doesn't care. In 5-6 years."

McGregor, who has been inactive since breaking his leg at UFC 264, laughed the tweet off with a simple question:

"Ah go on then , will there be belts ? hahahah"

Paul, who is likely the biggest name in celebrity boxing, chimed in, claiming that he would defeat McGregor in both a boxing ring and a mixed martial arts octagon:

"You fight for belts? Last time you fought for a belt was 4 years ago. Lost 3 of your last 4 fights. I would knock you out in the squared circle with one hand tied behind my back. To be fair, in the cage I would need two hands. But same result."

Although Jake Paul has yet to face an actual boxer, he has defeated several retired mixed martial artists in boxing matches. He has repeatedly called out McGregor, the biggest name in mixed martial arts. However, Paul has seldom received a positive response from "The Notorious." It remains to be seen if McGregor will react now that the former YouTube star has claimed he can defeat him in the octagon.

Conor McGregor shares that he doesn't care about celebrity boxing

Conor McGregor participated in one of the biggest boxing matches of the 21st century when he lost to Floyd Mayweather Jr. via tenth-round TKO in 2017. The former UFC double champ recently took to Twitter to share that celebrity boxing does not interest him.

McGregor initially shared that he remains friends with Dillon Danis, who is set to face English YouTuber KSI in a boxing match next month, prompting KSI to tweet:

"I’m sorry but I’m about do some serious damage to your boy"

McGregor replied by conveying his disapproval of celebrity boxing:

"Brother you’re a friendly little nerd I don’t care. He should be back doing mma if he is doing this little nothing burger match with you. I couldn’t care less about this genre of boxing, I am sorry. Have a good one."

It should come as no surprise that McGregor is not interested in celebrity boxing, as he has consistently ignored callouts from Jake Paul despite the payday that a fight has the potential to bring. It remains to be seen when the former double champ will make his return to the octagon.
