Jamahal Hill's only defeat in the octagon came at the hands of Paul Craig at UFC 263, where the now-champion of the 205-pound division suffered one of the most gruesome armbar injuries ever seen in the sport.

After being caught in the submission, Hill's arm was dislocated at the elbow joint, rendering it useless. However, the referee failed to see the injury and 'Bearjew' transitioned into a triangle submission, where he punched 'Sweet Dreams' until the referee stopped the fight.

Many who watched assumed that Hill had snapped his arm in half, and fans roared with outrage at the official's lack of observational skills.

In a video uploaded to Twitter by @DrizzyDezmond, Jamahal Hill's left arm can be seen flailing around as Craig continues to land blows. The fan was astonished at the footage, writing:

"STOP THE F***ING FIGHT WTF!!!! HE BROKE HIS F***ING ARM AND KEPT FIGHTING BACK WTF. #UFC263 respect to hill and Paul Craig holy."

Prominent MMA journalist The Schmo was also convinced that 'Sweet Dreams' had suffered a broken arm, and posted the following video of Hill cradling his damaged limb as he left the arena:

"Jamahal Hill’s arm is broken #UFC263"

Jamahal Hill and Paul Craig's careers have gone in somewhat opposite directions since UFC 263. 'Bearjew' is 1-2 since he defeated Hill, whereas the champion holds a record of 4-0.

Both men fought on the recent UFC 283 card. While Craig was defeated by Johnny Walker via TKO, Hill captured the light heavyweight title with a decision victory over Glover Teixeira.

Jamahal Hill welcomes Alex Pereira to challenge him at 205 pounds

Jamahal Hill defeated Glover Teixeira in dominant fashion at UFC 283 to secure the UFC light heavyweight title. Former champion Jiri Prochazka is assumed to be the next challenger as he was forced to vacate the title late last year due to a severe shoulder injury.

But middleweight champion Alex Pereira has offered to move up and challenge Hill for the belt if Prochazka is not available. Pereira has been training under the tutelege of Teixeira for more than three years, and it could be viewed as avenging his coach's defeat.

During a recent interview with Ariel Helwani on The MMA Hour, Hill welcomed Pereira's challenge, saying:

"What's popping? What's popping? We can get that cracking if he want to come on up and try his luck with that s**t. Come on in."
