As rumors begin to arise regarding newly crowned middleweight champion Alex Pereira's move to light heavyweight, Jamahal Hill has given his honest thoughts on what he believes would happen if the two met inside the octagon.
'Sweet Dreams' has quickly become one of the most feared knockout artists at 205lbs and continues to show improvements each time he enters the octagon. Last time out, after a grueling war against Thiago Santos, the heavy-hitter proved he is capable of outworking his opponents over long-distance brawls.
After being asked about Alex Pereira's potential move up to his division, Jamahal Hill promised to knock the Brazilian "the fu** out" if he thinks he can move to light heavyweight without consequence. He said:
"Only thing I'm really thinking about him [Pereira] that interests me is they're talking about [how] he might come up [to light heavyweight]. Come on in my boy... I want all that smoke, all that. I was there [at UFC 281], I watched it live. I mean, respect to Izzy, but me, I'll knock Pereira the fu** out... Do your thing at 185, bro. G.O.A.T. it up down there, bro. But you come and play in my motherfu**ing yard, in my backfield, I don't play that sh**, bro."
Excluding his loss to Paul Craig, Hill has knockout wins in each of his last four outings, which has spearheaded the powerhouse towards a shot at the currently unclaimed throne.
Next up, the 31-year-old will stand across the octagon from veteran Anthony Smith in a matchup that will likely insert one of the two light heavyweights into title contention.

Will Alex Pereira move up to light heavyweight?
According to reports, Alex Pereira has been contemplating a move up in weight and is regarded as one of the biggest middleweights to step into the cage on fight night.
After recently capturing gold at 185lbs, the South American will remain in the division for a while longer and intends to give former long-reigning champion Israel Adesanya a shot at reclaiming his title.
A move up to 205 could be on the horizon in the former two-division Glory kickboxing titleholder's future. With the lack of wrestling threat—excluding a few athletes—Pereira's power could present a real problem for the division.
