ONE women’s atomweight kickboxing world champion Janet Todd is one of the best strikers in the promotion. After losing her debut inside the circle, the Californian has put together a seven-fight win streak that has seen her become a world champion.

On March 24, she will have the opportunity to become the undisputed ONE atomweight Muay Thai world champion in a title unification match against Allycia Hellen Rodrigues at ONE Fight Night 8 on March 24.

Throughout the career accolades that she has picked up, the 37-year old hopes that she has been able to pave the way for female fighters to follow in her footsteps.

In a recent interview with ONE Championship, Janet Todd praised the female competitors that came before her that opened the doors. She said:

“There’s a bunch of women that have really helped us get to the world stage today. I’m thankful for them to present the path for us.”

She continued by talking about the impact that ONE Championship specifically can have in keeping this moving forward:

“Compared to the men, there’s not as many women competing. ONE Championship is a great platform, but I hope the sport continues to grow through some of these major promotions like ONE Championship. And, yeah, I hope people get inspired to compete. If I can do it, you can do it.”

At ONE Fight Night 8 on Prime Video, ONE’s atomweight kickboxing world champion Janet Todd will face Allycia Hellen Rodrigues in a world title unification clash. Putting her interim title up against Rodrigues’ world championship, this fight has been a long time coming.

Already holding the ONE atomweight kickboxing world championship, Todd will write her name in a very exclusive group of two-sport world champions if she is able to take the Muay Thai crown also.

In preparation for her huge clash, Janet Todd has been pulling out all the stops in her training camp to make sure she is the best version of herself on March 24. Part of this is the work she is doing alongside friend and training partner Jackie Buntan, a former ONE strawweight Muay Thai world title challenger.

ONE Championship recently posted a video on Instagram that showcased the two elite strikers at work. The video was posted with the caption:

"Kick for kick 💥 ONE Interim Atomweight Muay Thai World Champion Janet Todd faces off with divisional queen Allycia Hellen Rodrigues on March 24 to unify the belt at ONE Fight Night 8 on Prime Video! 🏆 @jmcoakle"

Todd and Buntan may only be taking it lightly, but both women will be able to learn so much from spending time around one another. Training alongside another elite striker gives Janet Todd the high-level training and sparring that she needs before the biggest fight of her career to date.
