Jon Jones signals interest in Francis Ngannou showdown: "Now we're talking"

Jon Jones recently expressed interest in a potential heavyweight showdown against Francis Ngannou, which at one point appeared impossible. Jones highlighted the magnitude of a possible clash and indicated that he is a worthy adversary.

Jones and Ngannou had been linked to a bout when the latter was on the UFC roster. It appeared to be a fight UFC CEO Dana White was interested in booking; however, 'The Predator' decided to decline a contract extension to pursue a boxing bout against Tyson Fury and signed with the PFL.

After Ngannou's coach said in an interview that he believes his pupil could make up with White, Jones took to his X account to share his thoughts on a potential super fight, which 'Bones' has labelled as "a clash of champions." He wrote:

"I'm hearing Francis Ngannou is still interested... now we're talking. That's a real super fight. A clash of champions, not just hype. He held the UFC belt, I've defended mine for over a decade. Two kings from different roads. Not just one legend facing a mouth that's hot right now, but two real legacies colliding. That's the kind of fight that actually adds something special to my story. At least from my point of view."

Jon Jones claps back at fans for signing petitions to strip him of UFC heavyweight championship

Jon Jones also recently clapped back at the MMA community for their efforts in signing petitions calling on the UFC to strip him of his heavyweight championship.

Jones took to his X account and made his feelings known on Tom Aspinall's fans going to great lengths because he hasn't immediately signed on to fight the Brit. He wrote:

"Instead of signing some petition, I'm gonna need at least 200 five-page essays from [Aspinall] fans around the world. Double spaced, MLA format. Convince me. My team will pick their favorites and get back to you... eventually."
