Jon Jones' long-awaited return to the octagon has been made official and he has taken to social media in search of training partners who can help him in his preparation to fight the tricky Ciryl Gane.

'Bon Gamin' put on a great performance in his last outing, earning a knockout of Tai Tuivasa after hurting the heavy-hitting to the body during their striking exchanges. The Frenchman will look to make history next time out by not only becoming the UFC heavyweight champion but also beating the legendary 'Bones'.

In a post on social media, Jon Jones made a proposition to all southpaw heavyweights and light heavyweights that are open to training with him ahead of his main event bout at UFC 285, insisting he will pay them for their time:

"Right now I'm on the hunt for southpaw heavyweights and light heavyweights that are interested in training here in Albuquerque for the month of February. More than willing to compensate you for your time."

The Hall of Famer has been teasing a serious move up to a new division for a number of years and has missed out on a large chunk of his prime as he dedicated himself to gaining muscle mass to be able to compete in the new weight class.

Jones is on a mission to prove the doubters wrong, who not only believe that he isn't capable of competing against fighters in the heavier division but also those who criticized him for his recent performances.

Back-to-back displays against Thiago Santos and Dominick Reyes to defend his 205lb title didn't go down well with a large portion of the MMA fanbase and many thought arguably the greatest fighter of all time was bested in both outings.

Jon Jones' tough heavyweight debut against Ciryl Gane

While it's hard to bet against a man many consider to be the best to ever step foot in the octagon, Jones could have a difficult time figuring out the unique style that his opponent utilizes.

Ciryl Gane has been almost flawless since joining the UFC and spearheading his way through the rankings, with his only hiccup in the cage coming in a razor-close decision loss to former teammate Francis Ngannou.

The European's movement and ability to fight at range could pose serious problems for the former light heavyweight champion, but if Jon Jones can implement a strong grappling game, we could potentially see another dominant performance from the 35-year-old.
